Speaking of Christmas Traditions (thanks Dawn) it's been a little tradition of ours to make personalised tree decorations each year using some photos from our annual Christmas photo shoot.
These personalised baubles are my effort for this year (the girls make their own special little christmas tree decoration each year as well). Our tree is very sentimental in that it showcases all of our special ornaments (some of which date back to the girls playgroup days). I know a lot of people love to change their colour scheme and decorations each year, but I'm more of a traditionalist and love the look of my tree with all of these special little treasures hanging proudly on it.
Materials: 8cm Glass bauble, Heidi Grace "Jolly & Bright" papers, Heidi Grace "Vineyard" ribbon, Medium "Tag" Squeeze Punch, eyelets & "Merry Christmas" metal plaque.
Tip: If you can't find clear glass baubles, just pick yourself up a couple (just in case you break one like I did!) of cheap coloured glass baubles from the $2 shop. Grab an old container and fill it with bleach and soak your bauble for a few minutes. Make sure you fill the inside of the bauble with bleach also as the majority of the colouring is on the inside. You'll find the colour just lifts away and leaves a beautiful crystal clear bauble behind. If you have a couple of stubborn little bits of colour inside, try adding a few grains of rice to use an abrasive and shake around (make sure you wear an apron or you'll have bleach spots all over your good t-shirt like I did DOH!)
Have fun, Cheers Paula
