and now a close up view.........
Well....... I have had fun creating this Paper craft Christmas Cake! (click on the pics for an enlarged view)
It's starting to actually feel like Christmas to me now that I have finished my Christmas Cards and some fun Christmas paper crafting projects! So thought I'd share this project with you all.
I have used 4 sheets of paper/cardstock from the Cloud 9 Christmas Kit.now available in K-MART stores.....and cut out some of the holly leaves and added to the top of the cake for a little added dimension!
On the top I have cut out a 6" and a 4" circle with the Fiskars Circle Border punch and added a die cut on the top....this is also in the Kit.
Next..... I just loved the reindeer die- cut and so I used this on the top.......and added another one on each side of the reindeer.....I actually used 2 Kits to get what I wanted.......but you could easily just use one Kit and have different colour slices of the cake.
I then added a little border onto each slice individually using cardstock from the Kit and also the Fiskars Embossing Scallop Border Punch....I have been using this punch a lot this Christmas....just love it!
Each slice opens up to reveal a little gift inside........you could add sweets,chocolates,novelties......etc.
With the template I made up I got 2 slices from a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock!
I then added some gold Christmas mini bows from the Reject shop.......a pack where you get about 2 dozen for $2.
This was such a fun project to create........it's not hard......just a bit fiddly and a little patience is also needed......LOL!
