Well...after a tough few weeks for me personally and no inspiration to craft, I was finally struck with scrap fever ! So yesterday I sat down to create. After waiting for glue to dry, fitting in shifts at work, and general household duties I have finally finished my creation. It's a magic key for Santa.
I hand cut the artisan shape for the background from chipboard, then covered it with patterned paper from the Cloud 9 Christmas Kit. I then sanded the edges to distress it a little.
The poem is just printed onto white cardstock and mounted onto chipboard. I also distressed the edges of that with some 'Old Paper' distress ink. The mounted poem is then matted onto some more patterned paper from the kit and the edges of that were sanded.
And if that's not enough...I then popped the poem onto a 'frame' that I made using the 'Lattice Entertain You' corner border punch. I punched it from plain white cardstock and then distressed it lightly with some more 'Old Paper' distress ink before adding some clear Stickles.
The word 'Santa' is made from alphas from the kit that I have sanded, applied Dimensional Magic to and then distressed with some 'Vintage Photo' distress ink. I've put them onto a piece of acetate (recycled plastic box) so that they kind of float above the frame.
The magic key is one that I designed myself. It is laser cut from chipboard, then painted white, coated with clear Stickles, and then distressed with some 'Vintage Photo' distress ink. A red satin bow (ribbon from the kit) and a big rhinestone finish it off.
And last but not least, there is a little bow (ribbon from the kit) with a bell for detail...
So, if your house doesn't have a chimney, why not create a sign like this for Santa complete with a magic key (any old key will do) ?! You could also enter it as your decoration for this month's MONTHLY CHALLENGE.

This is gorgeous Cindy...love the Poem ! Well done.......TFS!
