A simple birthday layout recording the gifts Kady received from us using Finley's Estate.
I love the olive greens and blues in this range. Perfect for male or female layouts and projects.
I used finley's Estate quote stickers along the bottom of the photos. The fifteen in stuck to a scalloped squeeze punch circle and the edges have been sanded.

Hello!!
Nice to see you!!
Thanks for stopping by to see what is coming up in the month of August.
Thought it best to post this today so you had a little time to get your head around it!
What better way to get through the last month of winter than with a NICE BIG HEALTHY dose of
COLOUR!!
As well as some inspiring colour goodness from our Ambassadors EVERY day for the month of August, YOU too will have the chance to get creative and show us what colour is in your little part of the world.
Why? Simply to open our eyes and appreciate the colour all around us, it makes for a happy existence :0)!
How?
CHALLENGE 1 - A COLOUR PHOTO A DAY
We will be looking at a total of 9 colours over the month. Every four days we will concentrate on one particular colour. At the beginning of each colour block i will tell you what colour you are chasing as well as posting my colour photo of the day.
What to do: Post your photo on your blog, linking it back to the Fiskars ANZ blog and then leave a comment under my post to let me know you are playing and then i can come and check it out.
At the end of each colour block i would love to use your photo to put into a collage for that particular colour, to post here on the ANZ Fiskars blog which will of course be linked back to you. Collages look FANTASTIC when they are colour coded.
Don't have a blog, no worries, just email me your photo (keep it small please :0) ) and i will include it in the collage. hanigans@bigpond.com
CHALLENGE 2 - SCRAP YOUR COLOUR
We want YOU to inspire US, show us how you have used your colour photos in a layout or a mini album or some other creative venture and email a photo through to fiskarscraft@yahoo.com.au with "scrap your colour - August challenge" in the subject line. We can then upload it into our challenge album for all to admire.:0)
Now if you have some other photos that you would like to scrap using colour but they are not from the photo a day challenge, then GO FOR IT - thats fine too!
The only stipulation for this challenge is that you must use a Fiskars tool and let us know which one or ones you have used.
NOW FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BE REALLY CHALLENGED
anyone??!!
You have to take part in the photo a day challenge and scrap them ALL. this will put you into an extra draw to win some Fiskars goodness!!
That means 31 photos girls, 1 per day!! Whos up for it? This is my goal, whos going to join me?
So we have 2 challenges with an extra incentive to complete both. Make sense?
Okay i think that just about covers it all. Any questions please don't hesitate to email me - hanigans@bigpond.com .
Come on don't be shy.....play and enjoy.
Saturday morning August 1st check back here to see what colour i want you to chase, and i warn you it is addictive, you will enjoy it - get the kids involved they will risk life and limb to find something in the colour you need ;0)
See you Saturday.

This card I made by punching out the scallop circle with Fiskars Scallop Circle squeeze punch.
Then snipped out every second scallop to make a flower shape.
Then I punched out another scallop and made it smaller by punching smaller and smaller with the same XL squeeze punch.
I used the Fiskars Eyelet Setters and Fiskars Eyelet for the centre of the flower. Put the patterned cardstock by Kimberly Poloson - Natures Flora range.
I also used Fiskars Ultra Shape Express to cut out the stalk and leaves freehand.
Off I go.... got to do more creating.... its addictive you know!

The poem inside reads:
For the past three hundred and sixty years,
Ironworks, copperworks, and then came the shears.
All as Fiskars continued to grow,
to the company now we all love and know.
Crafts, Garden, Scissors and things
this is what years and changes will bring.
Who knows where the future of Fiskars will go
With continued innovation soon we will know.
This lovely poem and all the fun birthday bits and pieces were created by Lisa Falduto a very active Fisakteer!
Don't you just love Lisa's ideas.......great for any party or special occasion!
xoxo

Oh boy oh boy....
Fiskateer online crops are so much fun if you get a chance to take part..... What? you say.... ok its when the Fiskateers get together online, do challenges, go in the draw to win stuff and have heaps of fun commenting and "talking" on the message board.
The latest online crop is on at the moment.... go and check it out.
In between changing my sons nappies and entertaining him I've managed to join in.... have a look at the crazy and other things we've been up to....
Making Fiskateer mickey hats!
Of course made with Fiskateer colours and Fiskateer scissors.
Colour challenge layouts:
in this case red, black and white
I did a rubbing of a fiskars texture plate in the background, used fiskars scissors to cut out the large scallop circle and used the fiskars sealed with aproval XL punch as a bitten matt around the photo. Groovy!
Another challenge Cards or layout using 3 flowers/6 buttons/no patterned paper:
I used a Fiskars trimmer for this challenge.
Then their was the bookmark challenge....
I used a Fiskars corner rounder and Fiskars Threading water boarder punch for these book marks.
And one more that I did - use new fiskars tools you have bought recently:
My new tools I used were: Fiskars Pinking blade for the potable rotary trimmer.
Fiskars squeeze punch - May flowers.
So as you see these challenges cater for everyone. At any skill level.
Don't forget tomorrow is the last day for this online crop. There are more to come during the year so I hope you join us. You can also catch up tonight if you have time.... Midnight scrapping? lol ok .........
Go to Fiskateers.com for more info.
Love to see you there!

Have you heard of bento boxes? Bento is a single portion or takeout meal in a box that is common in Japanese cuisine. I thought it was the perfect way to transport individual meals for a picnic! Pack up your next picnic in style with this fun & crafty box…
Beginner
Instructions (Print version)
1. Measure the lid of your box. Trim a piece of patterned paper to the size of the top. Punch the edges of the paper with the Fiskars Scallop Sentiment Border punch. Adhere to top of box with tape runner.
2. Punch 5 squares of cardstock using the Fiskars Square-a-licious border punch. Adhere in a checkboard pattern.
3. Using foam dots for dimension, add ants to several squares (Fiskars Limited Edition Gettin Antsy squeeze punch)
4. Create a simple embellishment for a paper cup by punching a strip of cardstock with the Fiskars Apron Lace punch. Adhere just under the lip of the cup.

5. Punch a strip of patterned paper with the Leave it to Weaver punch. Weave ribbon through, then adhere the ends to create a napkin ring. Slide a rolled napkin inside, and tie a bow.

6. Add a handmade card. This one came together quickly with the Fiskars Round n’ Round, Gettin’ Antsy, and My Funny Valentine punches.

Hi all,
I have used the HEDI GRACE sweetest bug green spots again, the birthday cardstock sticker and the striped paper, i think is from the birthday range again. I enjoyed using the threading water punch randomly around the edge. My daughter thinks it looks like i slipped and made a mistake lol- BUT i meant to do it and i like it - so i guess that's all that matters! I also used the Fiskars flower template for the large flower and for the circle centres on each flower. Oh I almost forfot the stickers are CLOUD 9 too.

Finally here to catch you all up on the Fiskars Xmas in July Crop day we had here this weekend just gone. Wow... what a day it was... heaps of great company and long silences where everyone had their head down scrapping up a storm. The morning started off a little chilly... after I had set up the room with all the yummy cupcakes and cookies for morning tea I got the heater working to warm things up for every one's arrival. By 10am everyone was unpacked and raring to go with a warm cuppa in hand. We all chatted for a bit about the mountain loads of products we all purchased at the Fiskars Garage Sale a few weeks ago. The many comments were how great the bargains were and hoping that it happens here gain. So when I finally reined in the girls from all their gas bagging we got started on the Off The Page project. The girls were so eager to make this after having seen the sneak and teasing them with what we were doing at the last crop we got straight into it. You could have heard a pin drop several times when the girls were busy cutting out the puzzle pieces. Here's what we did.... OTP - Altered A4 Puzzle

A while ago while having a discussion with my mother in law about Fiskars and the crops I hold here at my place every second month, we discussed me being able to teach a few friends of hers a few things. Well.. my mother in law lives about 1 1/2 hours away from us one way on a farm at Springton, in the Barossa. Now as much as I would love to be able to get up there to teach theses lovely ladies that have shown amazing interest there are a few things that make such a feat a little hard. Firstly trying to juggle what would happening with my four kids while I was away for a day. Secondly transport would be hard for myself and the ladies involved.. plus the distance of them coming here was difficult and ... Thirdly trying to juggle time commitment of myself, my family and all the ladies involved would have been too hard. So bearing all this in mind.. my mother in law and I have tried an alternative. As I make up kits for the ladies who attend the crops here with full instructions and precut kits, we thought we would try the ladies in the Barossa getting together and making up the kits from the crops themselves. So...they tried this the first time and were so excited to be getting together to scrap. Each of the kits contain an OTP item and 6 cards. As most of the ladies are fairly new to scrapbooking they work on the cards one time and get together the next time and make up the OTP item. After some of the ladies had taken there items home other have seen what they have done and they now have a nice little group of ten ladies getting together once a month to hold their own little crop. Here's some photos taken by my mother in law of their first crop...
I just want to say a huge thanks to my mother in law for spreading the Fiskars love and helping get this crop happening. I would also love to say thanks to all the lovely ladies that attend the crop and pass on there comments about how much they are enjoying what I send them. I know that I can't be with you at the crops but think of you all on your crop days and hope you continue to enjoy the Fiskars tools and products. I am looking forward to seeing more of that you have all been up to. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting news about Fiskars crops that happen here in SA.

I like experimenting with craft foam since we have a ton of it in the kids' craft drawer. My daughter is really getting into journals, so I wanted to stock her up with a bunch to use during the summer with different themes. Combining the two, I came up with embossed foam journal covers!
Intermediate
Instructions (Print version)
1. Heat brown craft foam with heat tool on protected surface. Be sure to keep the heat gun constantly moving so you do not scorch the foam.
2. Very quickly place Woodgrain Texture Plate onto heated foam and press firmly and evenly. If you aren't happy with the embossing, simply heat the foam back up and it will flatten before trying again.

3. Trim embossed foam to size of design with trimmer and run ink along embossing if desired to make the design more defined.
3b. Repeat steps 1 and 2 onto purple foam using Filigree plate.
4. Cut out butterfly using Ultra ShapeXpress and Butterfly Shape Template. Tear or cut the rest of the way through foam.

5. Ink over butterfly's embossed designed with assorted metallic inks. Sew onto woodgrain cover with button and title.
6. Trim notebook paper and chipboard to size of cover.
7. Punch two holes into cover and mark position on inside pages and back cover to punch or drill.
8. Run rubber band though one hole on front around twig and feed back through other hole around twig for binding. Any usual binding can be used, but I just wanted to keep this journal nature inspired.

The hand punches work great with craft foam, too. Here's a peek at the next journal I am making, a nighttime journal, with stars punched into the cover.
