My daughter has one of those doll umbrella strollers.
Well we've had it since her 4th birthday (she's now 5 1/2yrs old)
The cover has been cleaned several times and now its stuffed....
as you see the top of it won't hold up anymore as the material pieces have been torn off with exsessive use (ie: real children actually siting in it) And its torn in the front so the front rods are now showing.
My daughter has been using it like this for about a month now....
Dolly has been lying down on it. I thought it was about time I did something with it... New cover? NA!
I'll make a double whammy pram/stroller!
I had several small pieces of material that matched and proceeded to make a quilted lying down and seated part.
I used flat sponge pieces also to pad it up on the seated and lying part. Then stiffened the back of the seated part with craft foam that has been sitting around for ages unused.
Here is the finished product....
and in use....
There. A "New" old toy! ***shhh! probably better quailty than what we started out with anyway****
Here are the fab Fiskars tools that helped me out with making it...
- Fiskars Portable Rotary Trimmer (in spotlight/Warehouse Stationary stores now)
- Fiskars Soft touch scissors - Donna Dewberry endorsed (in spotlight stores now)
- Fiskars 12 in 1 sewing tool - Donna Dewberry endorsed (in spotlight stores now)
