Halloween ideas

 

I googled Free Vintage Halloween images and found these, so cool. I printed the images on normal printer paper and glued to the treat bags. Punched some tags and borders with my Fiskars punches and voila, cute Halloween treat bags.

And this empty strawberry container was begging to be made into something. So I dribbled alcohol ink over it, added some tissue and embellishments and I had another Halloween gift container. All drooly (sp) and halloweeny looking.

Spotting ORANGE signage- OMG!

Look what I spotted yesterday when Rod and I were in South Melbourne.....I'm always attracted to any

ORANGE signage along the side of the road(Fiskars colour of course....LOL!).....well I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this sign........

                       " diggiddy doggy daycare "

OMG.......daycare for dogs......poor Rod was driving when I got out my camera to take this pic.....after all it's not everday a girl sees a sign like this.....LOL!

Has anyone used this service? I never knew such places were around....must be because I'm a Country Hic.....LOL!

We spent some time at the South Melbourne Market and managed to get some meat,fruit and veggies....we love market shopping...lots of great bargains.....

.....and here's a little fun project that I created for a display last night at Spotlight HO Market Night which uses several of the Fiskars Squeeze Punches,Microtip Scissors for the ribbon leaves....I have some pics from last night of Trea and myself and all the fun work we were doing......yes...we were working.....but Oh what fun we had along the way.......LOL! Back tomorrow with some pics....heading into the garden today...it's a glorious SPRING day here in the Yarra Valley!

Spotlight Ballarat

I thought I would share with you a few photos taken yesterday during my demonstration at Spotlight in Ballarat. I was busy and we crafted up a storm.

I have to admit this is one of my favourite stores to visit and demonstrate at. The staff are the most welcoming ladies and gentlemen and the crafters that stop by to play with the Fiskars tools are always keen to sit and create and try out all the Fiskars tools.

Elizabeth stopped by and created a tag. Elizabeth was looking for a new hobby and loved creating with the Fiskars Ultra-Shapexpress and squeeze punches. I think we have a new paper crafter in our midst. 

 

Sisters, Tahlia and Jada had lots of fun creating their tags. Tahlia made a gift tag for her friends birthday. Both girls loved using all the Fiskars tools and found them so easy to use.
 

Next up, 5 year old Ally stopped by to create a tag. Ally is a keen crafter and spends a lot of time creating things at home. Ally was keen to try all the Fiskars tools and had lots of fun.
 

Take a look at these three keen crafters. Joshua is seven, Laura is five and Elena is 22 months. Joshua and Laura sat down to create a tag but little sister Elena really wanted to join in. Joshua and Laura had a great time trying out all the Fiskars tools and Elena mastered the squeeze punch and embellished it with stickers. She was so proud that she 'did it' just like her big brother and big sister.
 

My last crafter for the day was Marilyn. Marilyn had fun trying out all the Fiskars tools and creating a card. Well done Marilyn.

more pics from my Crafty Weeekend - Lyn

I am still on such a HIGH after a fabulous craft weekend......demoing "Punching Techniques" and teaching around 300 partipants at Fern Gully Stamps Craft Store in Boronia how to have fun with punches......get creative.....and create a fun and personal Christmas card.

The one above was the Card I decided to go with after all the Circle Border Punches sold out..yes...even the Workshop ones......LOL!..so I decided that seeing I had already pre-cut over 300 of these.....4" circles using my Ultra Express Shapecutter that  we would use Decorative Scissors for the afternoon groups Sunday.....to create the tree from the 4" circle.....you just fold the circle into 4 and then cut along the folds.......very easy.....and a creative way to make some trees.....

We also gave the Fiskars Border Punches a work out ....I used "Sunburst" on my sample above......but some participants chose other designs....from what I had provided on the tables......many using these for the first time....we had some men join as well as some teenagers.....which was lovely to see.....there were also families crafting together......the Embossing Border Punches were also on the tables for participants to try...they proved popular.

ON Sunday....the major door prize winner was drawn by Maurie.....one very excited lady I might add!

 

Lorraine was lucky enough to win a fabulous Fiskars Stamp Factory which Rod and I had donated.....she had only dropped by the store on Saturday morning to purchase a few supplies and saw us all having such a fun time....that she was able to book in for Sunday afternoon.....so she came back and had the best time.......as did we all.

I love how Maurie and Kerry organise this weekend...they hold these twice a year....and they have 5 workshops stations going at any one time....participants only pay $15 to attend which includes 5 demo workshops where different product/tools are demoed and introduced,afternoon or morning tea.....and 3 and a half hours of pure fun crafting! Crafters then have time to do some serious retail therapy.....it's so well run and I am privileged to have been working in this store the past 3 years....both for FISKARS and for Maurie and Kerry.

All participants got to do the following:

1) Punching -  talk and demo/punch techniques - create a Christmas Card using Punches in a creative way - with Lyn

2) Alison Ellis Papers /embossing powders - create a Christmas Card - Lace curtain technique

3) 3-D Sticker  Cards - using 3 -d tape and colouring stickers- CD micro wave technique explained

4) Stamping and Blending - Card

5) Embossing/diecuts with the BIG SHOT

Friday Night Session- the people from "Copic" provided an entertaining Workshop for all! Some of the FG Staff....Cassy,Jacqui and Marlene shall all be attending a Copic Certifcation Day shortly......so great news for those that visit this store...the ladies shall all be in the know soon.....and you can already purchase some of these fabulous markers in store.....very cheaply I might add....

I also learnt many techniques over the weekend......including the CD trick in the microwave.....love it!

We even had some Spotlight and Officeworks staff attend...and they also loved it! One came from Fountain Gate and the other from Ferntree Gully.

Getting crafty in Mt Gravatt Spotlight on the weekend

WOW....what a busy weekend for our Fiskars Craft Demonstrators......on Saturday Angela O'Neal was crafting up a storm in Queensland at Spotlight Mt Gravatt and sent through these pics.....

Ange was pleased to see some Teenagers sitting down to try the tools and create a little Make'n'take Project......learning some tips and tricks along the way with Ange. Love the Card using circles and stamps.....punches,etc.

Dawn was also out and about in Ballarat Spotlight in Victoria....so keep an eye on here for more pics as they come through.....

I'm resting up a bit today after a full on fabulous craft weekend working for Maurie and Kerry at FernGully Stamps in Boronia.....I had an absolute blast. teaching others some fun punching techniques and sharing some tips and tricks....I'm still on such a positive high.....LOL!  A real buzz ...this weekend......love ,love love working at this store........more pics to come over the next few days......once I download......

Azza loves her Fiskars Power Gear Pruners

 

Fiskars Demonstrator Azza Zedrak has been gardening today in the beautiful sunshine in New South Wales.....here's what Azza sent through to me.....

Hi Lyn,

I usally hate gardening and especially pruning as it causes so much pain for my hands. I had no problems with this tool no effort to continously push down on them to cut. It just went thru the smaller twigs with ease. I will be doing more gardening now thanks to fiskars.

So glad you find these easy to use Azza....they are such user friendly Pruners....and did you know that these along with some other Fiskars tools...both in Garden and Craft.... have all  received the following Ease Of Use Commendation by the Athritis Foundation......WOWIE...what a fantastic award!

WOW....what a fun time I have been having over at a favourite Craft Store in Boronia......FERNGULLY STAMPS.......I'm heading back over there for another day of crafting fun,laughter,demos,projects,yummy food,shopping....what more could a girl want.....LOL!

Thank you to FISKARS for providing some great Door Prizes and bags.....there were winners in each session last night and today's two sessions.....more prize draws tomorrow.....

We have been using a variety of punches to create some fun Christmas Cards....and just playing around to see what the punches can do......loads of fun....

I was delighted today when I caught up with some Yarra Valley friends......thanks ladies for allowing me to take your pic.....Cristie,Robyn,Sally and Jenni. I haven't seen Robyn and her daughters for over 6/7 years and Jenny I haven't seen for probably 15 years when her children attended the School where i was teaching...........so ladies.....I know you'll be checking on here......THANK YOU!!  Lovely to see you all again!  I also caught up with Julie...another teacher I taught with......but didn't get a pic...next time Jules.....

It was nice to see many new people this time trying out tools for the first time...didn't take too long and they were addicted.....LOL!

These Demo Dayz are the best way to learn about different ools and product.....try before you buy and have fun along the way......

ok....need to get to bed for an early start tomorrow...shall try and take some more pics......I'd also like to thank store owners Maurie and Kerry for taking me out for dinner tonight.....great food,great company....great fun! What a fun staff to work with......absolutely love it!

Spotlight Craft Clinic - Carnegie Melbourne

Hello everyone

Where has the year gone, I dont know about all of you but gees I could do with a few more hours in the day.

Two months to Christmas nearly, scary isnt it?

Time to get started on those Christmas Gifts and Creations.

Come and Join me at Spotlight Carnegie tomorrow,

23rd Oct 12 - 3pm

We will be creating a 6x6 Christmas Layout, using the gorgeous Bella Products and Fiskars Tools.

If you have never tried scrapbooking, come and have a go.  The idea is to take your 6x6 layout and incorporate it into a 12x12 layout, or you could leave it as a 6x6 layout, put it into a frame, it would make a lovely christmas gift.

" With Fiskars.....you are never too old....."

Well looks like Tracy Moloney Fiskateer # 6773 has had her mum and dad out in the sunshine the past week enjoying her NEW Fiskars Gardening Tools......and it  also looks like she might have a fight on her hands trying keep these fabulous tools.....LOL!

Here's what Tracy sent through this morning....

Dear Lyn & Fiskars,

My Mum & Dad came to visit and said that “with Fiskars you are never too old”!!!

I let them both have a mini workout with my Fiskars Power Gear Pruners and my Fiskars Easy Reach Pruning Wand and they loved them.

They are both seniors and I will politely say they are both over 70 and leave it there.

Mum has very bad arthritis in her hands(as you will see in the photos) and Dad has problems with his shoulders and back.

It has been a great visit, my geranium, fuchsia and lemon tree are now neatly pruned and the pieces chopped up into the garden waste recycle bin.

                                      Thank you Mum,Dad & Fiskars!!!

PS – I know I will have to hide them both so that they don’t go home with Mum & Dad

Looky what I spotted

Now in Boronia.....at the LSS " CREATIVE DREAMS "...they have ALL 4 Designs available! Square,circle,scallop circle and scallop square........

I was speaking with store owner Marion this morning and she told me that they have the Starter Sets and the Extra Design Cartridges for the NEW Fiskars EVERYWHERE PUNCH......woohoo.....

These punches are only available through Wholesalers (SSS and Stamp -It)..So ask at your Local Store to see if they have them in yet....if not...tell them you would like them to get them in....they really are a MUST HAVE TOOL!  I'm loving mine!

"Fleu de lis" mmmmm........a share from Tamara

Just received this Card in my in-box today from Fiskars Demonstrator Tamara in Townsville......here's what she had to say.....thanks Tam!

Hi Lyn,

I was also visited by the Fiskars Fairies who brought me some Lever punches to try and I had cards to make for father’s day – so one of them got put to good use! Rather amusingly (for me anyway) I had just sold another brand of punch that was a Fleur de Lis design..only to have another arrive on my doorstep!

I found the punch very easy to use and the inbuilt ‘punch catcher’ definitely made it easier to clean up! (or I could have used the punch outs as well).

The punch itself is very solid– it punched through my mid weight cardstock with ease and worked well on my test printer paper as well.

I was hesitant as to how these new punches would compare to the Fiskars squeeze punches (of which I am a huge fan), but was pleasantly surprised that they produced very similar results.

So what do you all think? This certainly is a different design.....but I love what Tamara has done with this...punching out of the light green and then matting with the darker green......looks great!

Green and brown always go so well together also......thanks for sharing Tamara! You just never know when those Fiskars Fairies might be posting out.....LOL! One of those Fairies shall be flying back from Europe this week......

Here a Punch...there a Punch...Everywhere A Fiskars Punch

WOWIE...have you seen the lastest Fiskars Everywhere Window Punch........it's fabulous for creating fun projects....especially Window Cards.....Adding Windows to Scrapbook Layouts/Projects,etc.......

I have been having fun playing around with this Punching System......creating some fun cards lately..

.......   BIRTHDAY CARD

...firstly I created this fun window birthday card for my DIL...Sally for her birthday which was yesterday......I don't normally use much red cardstock but I did this time as it's Sally's favourite colour.

......... CHRISTMAS CARD

So whilst I had the red out..... I thought I'd have a go at creating  a Christmas Window Card...again using the Square Cartridge.......I added some acetate under the windows and punched out some more Kaisercraft Chrsitmas Stamped images using my Fiskars 1" Circle Squeeze Punch and then punched out one red scalloped heart.....alos using my Fiskars My Funny Valentine Squeeze Punch.

Here are a few more close ups.....

I just love how easy this is to use.....you do need to get the Started Set and then you can also purchase other Cartridges...eg. Square..that just fit into the starter set base....so interchangeable.......gotta' love that..........these also come in a Scallop Square and Scallop Circle.

....and this what you see when the Everwhere Punch is in operation mode creating a card 

This Everywhere Punch Window System means that you can punch windows anywhere on your card or layout project.......so you can just move it around to suit.....and the base is magnetised so that the top and bottom stay in place once you have lined up where you wish to punch....there are also grid lines on the Placement Piece......think you might like one of these little beauties....??

These are available through Wholesalers  (SSS AND Stamp It)now.....so ask at your Local Craft Store to see if they have them....or can get them in for you......

I shall be taking my Fiskars Everywhere Punch Window System to FernGully Stamps Demo Dayz Craft Weekeend next weekend in Boronia for partipants to try.......in fact Maurie is trying to get some in as he just fell in love with my one this week when I visited......so I actually left it with he and Kerry......they loved it!.....it's actually on loan to them this week....shall be picking it up Thursday.......LOL!   That's how much they loved it....they just wanted to be able to play with it......just like I did.......LOL!

 Can't wait to work for FernGully Stamps again....they run the best Craft Weekend with over 300 partipants attending over 5 Workshop Sessions on the weekend.Door prizes,giveaways,show bags,workhops,access to new products....and it's a whole lot of fun.

Alison Ellis is also involved next weekend ....we sure are going to have a fun time crafting  ALL WEEKEND!! I'll share a few sneak peeks later in the week...you can book with the store...but be quick as Friday Night is already booked out....only a few spots left for Saturday Workshops...and a few left for Sunday.........it's going to be a Whole Lot Of Fun!!

Craft and Quilt Fair starts in Brisbane this week

                                         

Just  a reminder to all our readers in the Brisbane area.......the fabulous Craft and Quilt Fair starts this coming Wednesday October 20th.....
