Hi all the end of my block making for this quilt is here.... No the Craftsy lesson (which by the way stays on the internet) has not ended.... the next lesson for November is teaching me how to "shash" - I only can guess that "shashing" is putting pieces of fabric between the blocks to make the top of the quilt? See why I'm taking this free online course? LOL
Well yes there were two Paper piecing lessons in this months lesson. But I have run out of time - as now I have other things to do and I have all the blocks I need to make a single bed quilt. (which is the size of the dacron duvet inner that I am using as batting - we reciently changed the kids duvet inners).
The one I did do was, what I thought was the nicest and easiest of the two....
The friendship circle...
In this lesson Amy shows how to use a piece of paper as a pattern to make a complicated looking quilt block above. This one is great for all the left over bits of fabric you have lying around.
These are the tools that I used:
Fiskars extra large quilt mat
Fiskars square quilt ruler
Fiskars titanium loop handle rotary cutter
Fiskars Finnish thread cutter scissors
So in the month of November my lesson is Sashing.... I have bought Black fabric to go between my blocks. It will really make all those bright colours POP!!!!
Here are my blocks again all together so far....
so bright and so wonderful... I have really enjoyed this journey so far.....
Sashing, binding and quilting to go!
Happy sewing!
