Here is my second card I made for think pink!

Very simple, white card stock, edge with pink ink, pink card was embossed  with Christmas vine, and the top card was cut with the fiskars trimmer inked the edge in pink,added pink ribbon and wrote Hope on it with glitter gel pen.

I have added an Album with all the project entries in it over on the lefthand sidebar on our Blog.....so you can click on there to see any of the entries that have come through.....they are all so different and all so inspiring.....thank you all for taking up our THINK PINK CHALLENGE!

These are machine embroidery designs that I digitized and embroidered on towels for a relay for life auction basket.

I always use my favorite Fiskars curve tip scissors with my embroidery as well as my Fiskars self healing mat, quilting scissors, and pink rotary cutter.

This one is for a friend who celebrates 6 years cancer free.
I used my Fiskars finger knife and my curve tip tiny scissors they are my favorite tools for most all my projects.

Here is my  card I made using pink, the light pink was embossed with  flowers and the lace edge I used fiskars 3 petal corner punch which I just love using, and the sentiment is Hugs and kiss, I think we all can do with those in time of need.

THINK PINK LAYOUT from Lindy

Lindy Rabenstine has sent through this latst entry for our "THINK PINK" CHALLENGE on here this month...here's what Lindy had to say about her wonderful entry.....

 - My project for the Think Pink Challenge.  The photo seems a little blurry sorry.  I used my Fingertip Detail Knife to cut our the symbol.  I couldn't find one on scrapbook paper or for my sizzix so I used the magic off my refrig and traced it then used my fingertip knife to cut it out.

 

The journaling reads....2006 - I was six months pregnant when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer; I was at 8 1/2 months when Tyler was diagnosed with Leukomia.  These were very trying times and everyone kept telling me to take care of myself and the baby.  Very hard to do when your mom and thirteen nephew are diagnosed with cancer.

 

Fast forward to 2010 - Gracie is four years old.  Tyler is in remission and mom is diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.  Along with this she also has it in her back and liver. 

 

Tyler is now seventeen and got his tatoos to show that he has conquered cancer.  I got my tattoo to show support for my mom.

A Cute card for a friend.  Used my Fiskars paper cutter, and Fiskars Effervescence  Border punch.

I have an OLD paper cutter and I still love it.  It is more than 13 years old and still cuts like a dream.

month on here......to help raise Awareness of this horrible form of Cancer.......I'm sure we have all been effected by Cancer in some way.....through family or friends....

We would like our readers to do a few things for us this month.

1) Have a check up with your GP....book in for a Mammogram ladies (I had mine last Monday)

2) Reach out to those you know who are doing it tough at the moment

3)We challenge you to Create something PINK and share it with us on here ...it could be a Card,Sewing projects,Layout,Canvas,Painting.....just something crafty ...but you must use at least one Fiskars Tool.

BIGGEST MORNING TEA - a fun day

Well we sure had a fun time yesterday at SCRAPPY HOLLOW for the BIGGEST MORNING TEA. Cancer Council fundraiser.

....I have just been to another one this morning here in the YARRA VALLEY...hosted by a lovely young mum Clare......who used to go to kinder with our Brian........at only 28 years of age and with a little baby girl.....Clare is fighting the battle of her young life...having been diagnosed with Breast Cancer in MARCH last year................she is now about to go through rigourous treatement once again..........

...........I caught up with Clare and her mum and dad and her beautifl baby girl this morning.............was an emotional morning........................but I wish Clare all the best in her battle....she has a very positive attitude and she has fabulous family support.................I just hope and pray she can beat this aweful disease.......................anyway...............here are some pics from yesterday.....all the participants had fun creating two projects....firstly this Favour Box

and secondly some fun cards...we gave the NEW Fiskars Everywhere Punch a good workout along with other Fiskars Tools.............Border Punches,squeeze Punches,Lever Punches,Scissors and Trimmers...............one lady was absolutely delighted when I showed her that her Fiskars Trimmer had a pull out ruler underneath it....................LOL! She hadn't realised it was under there.....

............and the Morning Tea was scrumptious................

......might not all have been real healthy......LOL!  Oh what the heck.....it was yummy!!

We all had a fun time....and I got to catch up with my scrap buddy.....Carolyn who flew down from Alice Springs to attend.........................

We then headed out for some catch up time and shopping at Knox.......so nice to see and hug Carolyn after being apart for 6 months...............she and Jim have sold their home and are travelling Australia in a HUGE BUS.

Thanks must go to Heidi,Sam and Bec at SCRAPPPY HOLLOW and also to FISKARS for providing some fun giveways on the day.............................all participants got a little something!!

Biggest Morning Tea @ Scrappy Hollow Wednesday May 25th

After a week away in PAYNESVILLE I'm now back home and ready to have some crafty fun at SCRAPPY HOLLOW tomorrow morning for the BIGGEST MORNING TEA.

Look what arrived whilst I was away...............woohoo........NEW APRON and BMT Mug.....gotta' love that!

These are available to purchase through the CANCER COUNCIL along with many other products.....all money going to the Cancer Council.

I must admit I have a few different MUGS now....but I love them all....they are Mugs that mean a lot to me.......I have them in use every day in my house as a reminder about loved ones lost to this aweful disease.

Biggest Morning Tea and Miniature Exhibition - Lyn

What a fabulous day I had today at Stacey Apeitos's Biggest Morning Tea and Miniature Exhibition in Oakleigh South.

Stacey had invited me down for the morning and what a surprise I got to see her 4' high Doll's House nearly completed with Miniatures......so darn cute...and sooooooooo much work creating all the gorgeous little bits and pieces for each of the rooms.....and she told me that she used her trusty Fiskars Scissors to create many of the Miniatures.....

Not sure which room was my favourite......the Nursery,Parlor,Maid's Room,Formal Lonuge,Pantry,Laundry.....it even had a miniature trough and rollers.....other rooms were Study,Bedrooms, Hallway and Entrance....just like in Gone with the Wind....amazing work performed and created over the past 4 months by one very talented and passionate crafter in Stacey.

Some of you may remember Stacey as the original owner of PAPERIFIC.......well this lady is very talented across many different crafts...often combining her skills learnt from one craft to another to complete her projects.

Stacey is also going through her own battle with Cancer and she is an inspiration to all who know and love her......a true trouper with such a positive outlook on life.....she is also a member of various craft groups......felt making,Miniature,stamping to name but a few....she will turn her hand to anything crafty......

Her house is such a fabulous place to visit as it oozes with Stacey's personality and creations everywhere you look. I value Stacy's friendship....she is one remarkable woman who touches all who know her with her warmth and kindness and passion for art and craft!!

What a fabulous idea to combine a Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser for the Cancer Council with this Miniature Exhibition.....our Morning Tea was scrumptious and we were even given the recipes to bring home.....

I must admit I love having the opportunity to mix with crafters from other crafts that I don't participate in.....chatting to others there today was a wonderful experience in itself....I love learning....and to chat to others about their craft...is how you can learn to appreciate other crafts......

65 Roses Charity Quilt Block

Annette here, thought i would share what i made last night. I was having a bit of a blog hop yesterday and i came across WhipUp.net .

 This lady has close family members who are affected by Cystic Fibrosis  and to help raise awareness of this disease she is organising a quilt block drive, and so The 65 Roses Quilt was the way to do it.  65 Roses Day is named after a folklore story - and raises awareness of Cystic Fibrosis.

 The Quilt - ocmprised of 65 blocks will be auctioned at the CF Australia annual gala auction event in Canberra in September 2010.

I think its a great cause so i have made mine and will pop it in the mail tomorrow :0)

Okay so here is my contribution, like i told you a couple of days ago i am hooked on my

Mini fingertip rotary cutter at the moment, so cutting was done in a matter of minutes!!

The fabric was some bits i had from Tarisota .

 
  On each block the top lefthand square is to have a rose appliqued or embroidered on it, there are templates provided or you can design your own.

This took me back to my primary school days where we learnt how to embroider (thanks goodness i listened!! ;0), so i did it in chain stitch and satin stitch in the middle.

And the end result

i was happy with the end result, it was done with what i had on hand, but i'm thinking i might just have a little trip to Spotlight next week and make another ;0)

WHITTLESEA SHOW celebrates 150 years ~ November 7/8th

I am rather excited to have been asked to JUDGE the SCRAPBOOKING SECTIONS at the upcoming WHITTLESEA SHOW

I have heard so much about this show but have never been.....have you been? Is it a great show? Would love to have some feedback.......

I'm heading over there on Friday November 6th to do the SCRAPBOOK JUDGING......I had so much fun at the Royal Melbourne Show JUDGING this year....and now I have that opportunity again at another BIG SHOW!

Judging is all Voluntary.......but this is something I love to do.......it gives me a great sense of satisfaction doing Voluntary Work in the Community!

Out & About ~ Biggest Morning Tea @ Scrappy Hollow

Thought I'd share the layout class I taught today at Scrappy Hollow in Ringwood/Croydon North this morning for the Biggest Morning Tea.(click on the pics for enlarged views)

 I wanted to show participants how you can use the Fiskars Border Punches in creative and fun ways.....and how you can also just add one punched out embellishment to a photo for a nice look.

We used the Fiskars Diamond Border Punch for the pink punched edge and then we used it again for the brown strip on the lefthand side of the photo but we pushed it underneath the pic a bit further so that only one row of the diamond pattern could be visible. So same punch....but different placements on the layout.

Here are some of the happy participants who helped make the morning successful.....
  Rosemary and Carolyn....good friends of mine who came to show their support for the Cancer Council and to have some fun crafting!

Debbie and Cheryl decided to change their photo matt "portrait" which was fabulous.....they knew exactly what photo they wanted to add later when they get home......I love it when class participants do this and think creatively themselves...changing a layout design to suit their own needs......fabulous!

We have so much fun when we all get together each year for this event!

Out and About @ Scrappy Hollow for the Biggest Morning Tea May 27th

Hi everyone,

Well I'm off to Scrappy Hollow in Ringwood  on Wednesday May 27th for the Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser for the Cancer Council......can't wait....this is the 5th year I have run this along with Heidi Jeffreys(LSS owner)

I'm teaching a layout class.......nice and simple...which is hard for me....LOL!

We shall be using the Fiskars Border Punches....that's all I'm telling....LOL!

Jules is also teaching a fun card class during the morning which runs from 10am -12.

Cost for the morning is $15 donation to the Cancer Council.

.....we will supply a scrumptious Morning Tea....and Heidi (owner) is donating product for the fun classes....Fiskars have donated some door prizes(mmm.....there is even one of the Pink limited edition punches....sh.....sh...)........thanks guys....and I'm donating my time and corny jokes.....LOL!

Having lost both my parents to this awful disease I like to give something back to the Council Council each year as they were very helpful and supportive to myself and my family during trying times.

We hope to raise some more awareness and also raise some more funds doing what we all love doing!

It's so nice to be able to get together and share Cancer Stories also......sometimes the best therapy is to unload and share.......with others.......

I'd love to see some of you there.....let me know if you can make it!

"Crop For Kids" fundraiser is on again in Melbourne ~ APRIL 4th

Well it's only 2 weeks until all the fun at CROP FOR KIDS begins again.Saturday April 4th...remember last year when the Crop For Kids fundraiser raised over $12,000 for the Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children's Hospital.
