Hi well this challenge is awesome!

I ordered:

• Potato Wedges
• Butter Chicken
• Roasted stuffed Capsicum
• Banana Fritter

This is my list to create in:

• 81/2 x 11 LO
• Using green, blue & yellow colours
• Stamping and brads
• No patterned papers

When I first got this I thought....  Oh boy!

Then got out my stamps, green/blue/yellow colours, brads and made sure there were no patterned papers.

Then chose my photos and tools.

This is what I ended up with....

 

I used:

• Fiskars Stamps Zinnia Zing
• Heidi grace sweetest bug words
• Fiskars Squeeze punches: XL seal of approval and L round 'n round
• Fiskars Boarder punch: Treading water
• Fiskars 12" orange triple tack trimmer

heres some close ups....

I used my Zinnia Zing stamps on the punched out circles.

 

And I put the brads in randomly. I didn't want them in the middle of the circles on purpose (to tell the truth I probably couldn't find the middle if I tried) so I made them off center - obviously.

October Design Course 101 - part 5

Part 5: Colour Theory

This is part of a course, covering several basics of design and layout, to help you plan your wonderful scrapbook layouts and projects in the month of October.

Colour Theory:
colour is organized in primary, secondary, tertiary colours

Primary colours: Red, yellow, blue

Secondary colours: orange, green, purple (as red/yellow make orange, yellow/blue make green, blue/red make purple).

Tertiary colours: The colours from the secondary colours mixed to make new colours.

Other terms:
contrasting colours, complimentary colours etc are easily found via google.

Colours also create mood:
examples:
Blue – sad/cold
Red – hot/stop etc
yellows & oranges – summer, fun, warm, happy
Green – new life, cool, refreshing
Black – grief, night, spooky
etc

Here are some examples of layouts in with colour as a focus:

Top left: Christmas colours keep the theme in mind on this layout.
Top Right: It was in Autumn the photos were taken so I chose an autumn feel with browns and muted yellows.
Middle left: Blue for a perfect boy layout - greens were chosen to match the grass in the photos.
Middle Right: colours were chosen for a light hearted play look.
Bottom left: Yellow and reds with other colours were perfect for this summer layout.
Bottom right: Now who can pass up pinks and purples for a butterfly princess?

I hope you have learnt a bit about Colour Theory. However this is a very small snip-it of colour theory. If you are interested in more then I suggest doing a google search on “Colour Theory” or to get a book out of the library.

One last Colour Me Happy Share

HELLO :0)

I know we are in full swing for Michelles RECYCLE-REUSE-REPURPOSE challenge, but i just couldn't resist showing you this one last entry for the Colour Me Happy Challenge from Robyn W who is a Fiskars Demonstrator down in NSW.

Nice huh?? :0)

Robyn has used a small Kaisercraft acrylic album, Heidi Grace rubons, ribbons, flowers and the Fiskars Apron Lace Border Punch (which just quietly i looked at when i was visiting HERE last week, and now i'm kicking myself i didn't buy it ;0)  )

Like the other girls Robyn did a fantasic job and her pages have been uploaded to our challenge album, that takes our album to 57 pages, go check it out, looks awesome!!

BUT we have to beat that,

 lets get that RECYCLE-REUSE-REPURPOSE CHALLENGE album just as full :0) Come on girls get those entries in!! (and guys ;0)

Colour Me happy Challenge

Hello!!

How's the scrapping coming along for the Colour Me Happy Scrappers?

I have finally finished, not at all what i had originally planned, but hey, thats how it goes!

 

These are the tools i used.....

The circle squeeze punches for all my scallops (big half circles) they were also used for my little paint palletes, cut in half.  The little guilotine is perfect for trimming photos, or in this case for cutting up little photos. My border punch also for smaller decorative scallops. Other than those tools mentioned, some paint, black zig writer, white gel pen, ribbon and paint. My title was done using paint charts for the different colours and running them through the sizzix machine with an alphabet die.

So guys you have just under 9 hours to get your entries in, looking forward to seeing them.

Tracy packs up her photography kit, which consists of a couple of garden stakes, her black enviro bag and camera, off she goes down the street to a complete strangers garden bed, sets up her stakes and black bag, behind the white lily and this is what she ended up with....

A round of applause please!! For originality in photoshoot props as well as a FABULOUS final photo!! Well done Jane :0)

Last Day of Colour for Me.

Here is what I found today for the last day of the Annette's colour challenge.

My Black Camera

 

My baby.. I just can't seem to live without it.. It seems to be always attached to me and the kids hate it... Jhane(11)tells me to take pictures of someone else.. Nate(5) does the whole I'm a tough boy silly pose.. Kiah(2)does the whole cheesecake silly smile or the look though your eyelashes look .. and now Tarryn(7mths) does the whole squeeze your eyes up cause that darn camera is out again look...Maybe.. just maybe I am doing the whole paparazzi with my family ?? lol.. NAH !!!

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Annette. She has done some amazing work getting this challenge happening. I have had sooooo much fun and it has certainly made me look at things around me very differently. I have big plans for my colour photos when Iget some time spare. Thanks again Annette.. MWAH xx

While i know some of you have finished your scrapping for the challenge (well done, I AM IMPRESSED!)  i know there are still a few who are really, really  close and could do with a little extra time, that will also help us with a little more time to load them into the challenge album.

SO ....... you can have until MIDNIGHT on the 2nd of September to get your pages in, don't forget to email me with the tools that you have used okay?

Colour Me Happy - black and white day 3

Gosh i'm not sure i'm game to say it, BUT.... this people is THE last day of our photo challenge.

so i am going to post 2 today!!

 

A business in Cairns, my sister and i were driving around and came across this, so out the window she goes, good job Vick ;0). We sure are creative on the colour schemes up this way, lol!!

and this bloke was making our avairy birds go beserk.....

 

I'm sure i would be sqwarking as well if that big beak was looming over the top of me!!

Can't wait to see your final days photo, go to it!!

Colour Me Happy - Black and white day 2

Good Morning, hope you are all well this lovely Sunday morning:0)

My pic for today is this.....

 

When my sister was up at the beginning of August we took a drive down the track to Babinda and spent a pleasant couple of hours poking around. This huge shackle is on the end of an even huger (is that a word?) anchor that is part of their War Memorial. As you can see it is kept in perfect condition, a lovely memorial and perfect for our black and white.

Wow, only 1 more day to go, can you believe it?! Remember scappy people, midnight tomorrow night 31st August is the deadline for that part of the challenge, you ALL are doing a FANTASTIC JOB :0)

Hello!!

We are back.

 Thankyou for all your "happy footballing" wishes :0) Graham.... I'm sure will understand our sad faces as we left the ground, without going into football politics, those bloomin refs need to get their eyes checked, video refs in particular!!

Right nuf said on that note, i did take some colourful pics at the footy so i might get them together in a collage over the next few days and give you a peak.

It's "black" and could be used as a Father's Day Gift

ok so we are chasing black and white now until Sunday night on here.....so thought I'd kill two birds with the one stone and share my Business Card Holder that sits on my desk.

This could be an ideal gift for Kids to make for DAD for Father's Day ......it's only days away.....Sept.6th. Kids would love to do this with stickers.....eg....using things Dad loves!

I sure had fun creating this earlier this year....using a $2 tin from the Reject Shop and some Heidi Grace "Sweetest Bug" stickers...I also added some 3 D tape underneath the FISKARS LOGO.

Here is the back view.....so another idea for a Gift on a Budget!

This is a layout I completed as a contributor to NZ Dares last year for a dare challenge about COLOUR. 

In Auckland we joke that we can get 4 seasons in one day , so rainbows are a frequent sight.  I can't get enough of them, just love them!

I used all Heidi Grace and Cloud 9 papers... mostly old paper offcuts for this layout, with a Fiskars Zingz and some Heidi Grace rubons, plus a few other non- Fiskars embellishments.

Using a white background is an easy and effective way to use up leftovers:)

Grunge Circus

Here's my contribution to the orange layouts. I used a burnt orange. Excuse the blurred face but I don't have permission to share Leah's friends photo.

I used Ink by Steph (burnt orange paper) and Li'l Davis chipboard letters. I peeled the middle of the letter off the backing so it was only one colour and not two.

Been busy here in Adelaide with colour chasing and scrapping that I haven't had a chance to get here to add my colour pictures from the last few days...

So here they are..

Day 25 - Orange Miniature Roses

Been out in my garden again pruning and found this beautiful rose.

 

Day 26 - Orange lidded formula tins

Just when I thought we had finished with them .. along came bubs number 4... now I will have more than I need to stash all my scrapbooking odds and ends..

 

Day 27 - Orange Fiskars Scissors and Shears

These seem to be everywhere in the house and shed. I swear by them. They are the best... and I have plenty of scissors trust me... these babies cut through anything and as so reliable.
Can you tell that I love them...lol....lol...
 

Day 28 - Orange Packet of Photo Paper

Just something that I seem to have an abundance of around my house. I seem to have so much photo paper that its not funny... I print all my own photos so have paper in A4 and 4x6 on hand all the time... no matter whether it is glossy, premium glossy, matt, canvas, photo sticker.. I have it here.. Well.... you never know what I might need to print on when I am scrapping away. that's the theory behind why I have so much anyway.. and I'm sticking to it...lol.

Almost coming to the end of our colour chasing.... I wonder what the last colour will be. Better check out the Blogtomorrow to find out.

Daffofil Day today ~ August 28th

Did you know that it's daffodil Day today? I chose to show this flower from our garden today....seeing it's the last day of sharing ORANGE! Don't you love the centre....so bright and cheery!

So if you are out and about and see some bunches of daffodils for sale.....or other Daffodil Day merchandise......why not purchase some .....all money goes to the CANCER COUNCIL!

Such a worthy cause.......I lost both parents to this awful disease.....my DAD would have been 83 today......yes...ironically DAFFODIL DAY this year is on his birthday!!

I took some daffodils to the cemetery yesterday....and had a little bit to say to both my mum and dad before leaving these gorgeous flowers with them!
