Introducing Debbie and Bryce Green....Ghecko Craft

Hi everyone,

I have had the pleasure of having two very lovely and dear friends come and stay for the past few days.

Debbie and Bryce Green own the LSS in BAIRNSDALE, East Gippsland where I teach classes.

As all business owners would be aware....it's not always easy to have time off......well Debbie and Bryce decided it was time to have a  few days away from the Shop.......GHECKO CRAFT.

Here we are catching up.......we laughed....so much.....and chatted and chatted and chatted some more.......sometimes these totally unplanned and  on the spur of the moment experiences in Life are just what we need in our very busy lives to slow down a peg or two....and take time out!

I wanted to share these pics with you all.....as you have probably seen that I'm facilitating some FISKARS Make'n'takes down at Ghecko Craft on February 22nd and many of you know that I teach classes down there....

Here we are.......so nice to catch up and relax....chill out and unwind from our daily lives......the BEST MEDICINE!     Thanks guys......

Debbie and Bryce sell many FISKARS products including the Stamp Press and Acrylic Stamps.......and that's what we'll be playing with on Feb. 22nd.....woohoo.....Debbie tells me she has lots of interest.....they are even coming down from Orbost...how exciting!!

Our LSS are just so helpful to the consumers......business people like Debbie and Bryce....who are both excellent crafters in their own right....and real true Aussies through and through are a welcome addition to retailers selling FISKARS products. I love teaching down there....it's such a positive place to teach and the locals are a delight to have at Ghecko Craft. So spreading the FISKARS love a bit more........

Australia Day RAK

Thankyou to all of you that left a comment on my Australia Day Post - it was fantastic reading your touching stories.  No matter where in the world we live, we are all united by the pride we hold and feel for our countries!

Of course you're all eagerly waiting to see who won the RAK - well I wrote all of your names on a piece of paper and asked my darling husband to draw out the winners name.

Congratulations to Di from Canada - you're our Australia Day winner :)

Life Quotes

Well I finished this with no time to spare! I first had the idea for this project six months ago or more and never managed to get started on it as something else just kept coming up - nothing like leaving it until the very last minute.

I made this for Dayna as she embarks on her new life at High School - one that will be full of new experiences, challenges, friendships and emotions. The idea is to make a little quote card each week and stash it in her bag, lunch or books somewhere for her to find as a surprise and to let her know I'm thinking of her. I guess it's just another take on the love notes in the lunchbox idea IYKWIM.

I've covered the tin in Heidi Grace "Frost Boulevard" papers (available in Spotlight stores Australia wide) as her favourite colour is blue :) I've included a large card in there entitled "Life" and this has my favourite passage about "life" on it. To me this passage says it all!

I've also made her first quote card (which I stashed in with her lunch today) which reads:

Old friends may go their own way, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend or a meaningful day - Tenzin Gyatso

I chose this quote because I know how anxious she is about not having any friends in her class and how she feels alone because of this.

She's a Happy Cat

Lianne here, just sharing a LO I did with the Cloud 9 Cat range available in Australia in LINCRAFT stores in Feb. Really love this range, the colours and esp love the embossed paper with the big paw prints (the big shiny cut out paws in the corner), so cute!!!

Projects to share

Hi everyone, Jacky here. Just wanted to share to couple of projects I’ve done with Heidi Grace’s “Oh So Moody and “Oh So Loved” range. This range is currently available at Lincraft. Its such a cute range, and I just can’t get enough of it. The first project is a mini albums which is based on one that Shimelle did for Fiskars TV (episode 44). For the mini album I have used “Oh so Loved”and the lettering is done with fiskars basic font and the stamp press.

           

         

   

The next one is a scrapbook page use “Oh So Moody” I’ve also used a Heidi Grace clear stamp for the journaling box. These clear stamps aren’t available yet, but which be soon.

Some Cards To Share

Dawn here, I thought I would share some cards I made today. Quick and simple ones. I feel no matter how simple it's always nice to receive a home made card.

The first one is for my Dad's birthday (pretty sure he doesn't stop by here so I am safe to share) using Cloud 9 Design, Wild Honey, Meadow Collection Kit. I love sanding the edges of the papers to highlight the white core. I added letter stickers over the top of the epoxy squares.

Hint, When using dark colours for the main part of the card add some plain lighter card inside where you write your message.

 

The next is a card I have made for my sweet nephew Dylan. He is turning three this week. A while ago I made him this door plaque (featured in Scrapbook Creations top ten) using the Cloud 9 Design, Baby Boy collection of papers. The frog paper is just gorgeous. It's embossed, glittery and so cute.

I cut the two small frogs out of the patterned paper and adhered them to heavy mat board. I then re-cut them and added them to the plaque.

For the larger frog I scanned the paper and then printed it out larger onto white cardstock. I adhered it to heavy mat board and then re-cut it out. I pop dotted the centre one and added googly eyes to them all. I added a layer of Li'l Davis Glitter Glaze so that it matched the small frogs. I then covered them in a layer of dimensional magic to make them nice and shiny.

Dylan will love them.
