I really loved Enid Blyton too and it was so exciting to see my children both enjoy The Faraway Tree. They have read a few Famous Five and Secret Seven books but of course they're up against Harry Potter, etc today. (and they think the names of the FF & SS are very odd too! LOL}.

Wow! You probably have a fortune their in Little Golden Books. They are really quite collectible.

..but I do know how you feel. I love books & always have. I know I have my mother to thank for that as she always read a chapter or two from the Bobbsey Twins to us at bedtime. I read a lot & always have a book on the go. Plus a huge collection of books. I also have a collection of vintage children's books set aside hopefully for future grandchildren. I should do a layout too on my love of books. Thanks for the inspiration.

I just loved Rohald Dahl and Margaret Mahey (sp?) they were just so exciting as a kid. The good old Golden Books were always a fav too - my Nana would always give us some for birthdays or Christmas.

I loved reading the Magic Faraway Tree as a child and then I read it to my own boys. They use to ask for a Chapter every night.....snd without fail Tim would always start laughing when he knew Dame Washalot was coming up next in the story.....he just loved her antics.....and I must say I really hammed it up a bit when reading it.....LOL!

Sorry for the triple posts everyone......

We had the golden book titles all bound together in one big volume. The Pokey Little Puppy was my favourite. As for Enid Blyton - The Secret Seven was my first love and then I found The Famous Five.

Dawn, I love your LO. What a great thing to do a LO about. I've always loved books. Something my mother fostered in me. You've inspired me to think about this some more for my own LO.
