Jo here, tried to load a post for ANZAC day before I left for a 3 day ANZAC weekend Scrap Camp on Thursday afternoon - but typepad threw me out for some reason.....
So here is my late ANZAC tribute to my grandfather Wilfred James Taylor who served with the NZ Army during WWII. Granddad is a true ANZAC as he was born and bred in Bendigo, Australia and immigrated to NZ with my grandmother Gwen and my 2 year old mother in the late 1930's. So when war broke out Wilf signed up with the NZ Army and served with the ANZAC forces all over Europe as a dispatch rider. Here is a layout I did about him a year or so back, no Fiskars consumables used but I gave my Fiskars cutting blade a good work out hand cutting the title (I thought the original Fiskars cutting blade was amazing until I tried the new Finger Tip craft knife which is fantastic - I'll post more about this later).
Granddad served right through until peace was declared and was lucky enough to come home to Wellington along with his best friend Bill.....the friendship forged during the war stood the test of time and they remained very close friends until Bill passed away quite recently, My Granddad is still alive and well and has just turned 93 and living independently at Paraparaumu beach. Granddad always marched at ANZAC services since returning from WWII - however at 93 he doesn't feel physically up to attending ANZAC services any longer....so my son Taylor (his namesake) marches for him with his Cub pack (I was really disappointed to miss seeing him do that this year). We owe such a lot to the men and women who have fought in all the various conflicts to preserve our freedom and I'm so pleased to see the numbers turning out for ANZAC services every year getting larger and larger. Lest we forget......
Mmmmmmm those wonderful Fiskars fingertip knives!

This is wonderful Jo! Isn't it great that they live such long lives after what they've been through?
