I have been having fun with different techniques and looks....
but first something more semi-normal... he he
I used Cloud9 - raindot - at the beach title and shapes. vellum flowers.
Fiskars ultra shape express freehand for cutting out the flowers and swirls. Used the edge of the oval template for the scallop edge and used the reverse just to extend the use of the double sided cardstock by Heidi Grace - only time range. I used a sketch from Just Buggin.
I love layering flowers at the moment and curling up the petals. Notice the raindot beach raindots and shape in the centre? I love it!
Here is a clearer look at the raindot shapes with the beach theme. Cool aye! bucket/spade - ball - footprints! and our fav the round rain dots. I also use here some Fiskars decorative scissors - cristina re - Boudiour to cut around the heidi grace chipboard journalling shape in the punch board only time set. Added a bit more pa-zang!
Now with my experiment layout....
Please excuse the flash but I wanted to show you the shimmer in the background.
I used:
Heidi Grace - Midnight kisses cardstock for the "garden" down the bottom of the page. And Journalling sticker in the same range stamped with a crackle stamp.
Heidi Grace - swirl stamp
My own - lino cut stamp bird. (I hand cut it from artist lino)
Fiskars Ultra Shape express freehand to cut around the "garden" plants.
I enhanced the heidi grace paper with kindy glitz - silver.
here is a close up of the top stamped boarder.
Here is the experiment I want to highlight for you...
I used masking magic and cut one sheet in half.
Then punched the edge with part of the star squeeze punch by fiskars.
And cut rough ovals and diamonds with the Fiskars fingertip craft knife.
- Then I did the first spray with my home made glimmer colour (similar to glimmermist)
- Waited for it to dry. Then stuck down the masking magic boarders where I wanted them.
- Sprayed the cardstock again.
This is the end result on both sides of the page...
a nice simple/soft but effective boarder. I love it. Whats great about this I also can save it and reuse it for later layouts/cards etc! I just store it on some clear packaging.
I put some white Heidi Grace - epoxy hearts on the layout too.
Well better go and do some vaccuming.... my son thinks that the salt pile he tipped on the carpet is sand..... hmmmm love kids!
This is great. I love the homemade mask idea. The bought ones are expensive and you really don't always get what you want. Fantastic...some really great tips here!
