There's no doubt a plastic egg full of candy is a tasty treat, but what other fun can these Easter standards bring? With a little clever tool use paired with cardstock, a plastic egg can transform into the cutest little spring animals to add little spots of adorable décor to your home this season. But these eggs need not be exclusive to springtime, though you'll want to buy them up while they are in stores now. How cute would they be for creative, outside-the-box birth announcements or baby shower invitations?

Instructions (Print version)
Just Hatched Baby Announcement
1. Drill hole into each half of egg near center opening. Feed ribbon through holes and tie in a bow on outside of egg to create pretty hinge.
2. Use Ultra ShapeXpress with Ovals template to cut out multiple eggs for interior pages. Cut photos (this size works well with wallet-sized photos) and formatted text from white cardstock. Format one oval to say "Just Hatched" and top with punched chick.
3. Stack all ovals together and nest (no pun intended) into egg and close to complete announcement.

Egg Chick
1. Punch six hearts from orange cardstock and adhere in a stack using glue stick. Set aside to dry fully.
2. Drill two small holes into top of egg from inside.

3. Using embroidery needle, feed yellow embroidery floss through both holes several times leaving a large section outside egg (easiest to wrap around fingers). Cut at center of floss and tie together in a knot.
4. Punch scalloped oval and cut in half to form wings.
5. Use Easy Squeeze Glue Gun to glue wings to back of chick, as well as eyes and hand cut beak.
6. Once wings are dry, glue completed chick onto heart base using Easy Squeeze Glue Gun.
Note: When drilling both projects, be sure to properly protect work surface with block of wood, stack of magazines, etc.

Not too many non-catcher position players have arrived. Among the ones in camp, David Murphy has the most service time. Chris Davis is here, along with Craig Gentry, Justin Smoak, Mitch Moreland and Brandon Boggs. Speaking of Boggs, he said he is two weeks away from being allowed to participate in full drills. He has been taking batting practice.
