Colour Me Happy - Back to Black!!

What a fantastic month of colour ending with one of my favourite background colours - BLACK!!

I love using bright colours, and they really pop when you put them with a strong contrast colour like  black. 

The layout below is a good example....the punched circles of bright scraps of patterned paper (using my fiskars small circle punch and another smaller punch in my stash) really stand out and anchor the bottom of this layout.  Love how the lime green transparency circle also makes a statement against the black. 

So if you love strong colour, try using black as a background or accent colour and see how vibrant it can look.

Tracy packs up her photography kit, which consists of a couple of garden stakes, her black enviro bag and camera, off she goes down the street to a complete strangers garden bed, sets up her stakes and black bag, behind the white lily and this is what she ended up with....

A round of applause please!! For originality in photoshoot props as well as a FABULOUS final photo!! Well done Jane :0)

Fiskars Butterfly Template Layout

I thought I would share a layout I did over the weekend. I used the Fiskars Butterfly Shapecutter Template. I thought I would try something a little different. I cut the large butterfly out of the floral patterned paper and backed it with some red patterend paper. After lining it all up I cut the top of the butterfly wings out of the red paper and adhered it behind the floral. I used Fiskars pop dots to make the wings stand up.

The small butterfly is cut out of red patterned paper and folded in half and pop dotted on top of the floral paper. I used Li'l Davis epoxy letter stickers for the title.

Colour Me Happy

It's hard to believe our month of colour has come to an end. I've enjoyed all the colour inspiration everyone has been sharing ... there have been some awesome photos on the blog this month, I'm only sorry I didn't manage to keep up with you all.

My month of colour got insanely busy around the days of 'green'. I managed to snap this green picture but never got the time to share.
This was just some of my son's birthday presents that he had neatly lined up after his party earlier this month ... there seemed to be a green theme going on there.

Then, for yellow I had this one.

I guess that explains a little of why I got so busy this month.

I did manage to scrap my red photo somewhere along the way.

I didn't have any suitable red papers so I painted the background with red paint.
I stamped on some red fabric circles and then covered buttons to make my 'M&M' lettering.

And finally I have a white/cream based layout to share.

These are Kimberly Poloson papers, I've inked the edges so that the layers can still be seen with the cream on cream colour scheme.

It's been fantastic to see all the colour layouts in the competition gallery for this month ... so much inspiration ... it's been a fabulous month.

Recycle... Reuse... and Repurpose...

Last Day of Colour for Me.

Here is what I found today for the last day of the Annette's colour challenge.

My Black Camera

 

My baby.. I just can't seem to live without it.. It seems to be always attached to me and the kids hate it... Jhane(11)tells me to take pictures of someone else.. Nate(5) does the whole I'm a tough boy silly pose.. Kiah(2)does the whole cheesecake silly smile or the look though your eyelashes look .. and now Tarryn(7mths) does the whole squeeze your eyes up cause that darn camera is out again look...Maybe.. just maybe I am doing the whole paparazzi with my family ?? lol.. NAH !!!

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Annette. She has done some amazing work getting this challenge happening. I have had sooooo much fun and it has certainly made me look at things around me very differently. I have big plans for my colour photos when Iget some time spare. Thanks again Annette.. MWAH xx

All right you lot!! You have me wrapped around your little finger ;0)

While i know some of you have finished your scrapping for the challenge (well done, I AM IMPRESSED!)  i know there are still a few who are really, really  close and could do with a little extra time, that will also help us with a little more time to load them into the challenge album.

SO ....... you can have until MIDNIGHT on the 2nd of September to get your pages in, don't forget to email me with the tools that you have used okay?

COME ON LETS SEE HOW MANY LITTLE BOXES WE CAN GET IN THAT ALBUM ON THE TOP LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE BLOG, GO HAVE A LOOK AND WATCH IT GROW!!

Colour Me Happy - black and white day 3

Gosh i'm not sure i'm game to say it, BUT.... this people is THE last day of our photo challenge.

so i am going to post 2 today!!

 

A business in Cairns, my sister and i were driving around and came across this, so out the window she goes, good job Vick ;0). We sure are creative on the colour schemes up this way, lol!!

and this bloke was making our avairy birds go beserk.....

 

I'm sure i would be sqwarking as well if that big beak was looming over the top of me!!

Can't wait to see your final days photo, go to it!!

oops nearly forgot, it is the final collage night so pics, links etc in as early as you can please guys, at the latest 8.30pm Aussie blog time.
