Hi everyone,
Sorry again to those ladies who have been waiting for me to post their photos... the end of my week got pretty hectic and I've just started back at the gym after a (far too long) break which means I'm unbelievably sore, moving slowly and feeling a bit fragile right now.
I have some computer photos that came through to me late on Thursday night...
Tamara's computer:
'Well as you’ve already seen my home computer in a previous photo, I thought I’d show you my other one. This is the computer part of my workstation at work. Yes that’s right, I’m greedy and have two large screens! In the age of electronic documents & multiple online systems I find it almost impossible to get my work done without them. Using two screens is not only more time efficient, it also saves us a lot of paper as you don’t have to print out documents to refer to them as much, you can have one up on one screen to refer to whilst you are working on another document in the other. I’m amazed how fast technology has come in the past few years, when I got my two screens (only about 3-4 years ago) I was only the second person in our work area to get them (one of our technicians was first) and now almost all of our administrators have them as standard. It’s getting more difficult to remember when we had only one small monitor each and large computer towers that had to go on the floor because they needed to be out of the way – they are now a quarter of the size and can go almost anywhere on your desk without causing much of a problem, leaving more room for larger screens (that are so much easier to read!).'
and Maureen's computer:
'Well I am sad to say that I am one of those people that haven't upgraded their computer in a long time!! So I took a photo of the only new part - the screen!!!!'
For day 20 I asked you to play with your camera and take a photo that was an abstract close up.
Tracy sent through two fantastic photos...
'It is a dark, showery day here today but I snuck out and braved the freezing cold wind to get a macro shot of some lichen growing on the trunk of our wattle tree out the front. I love the colours and textures of both the bark and the lovely little things that grow on it and of the chunky rock sitting nearby. I love macro photos, always zooming in for the close-up, the complete opposite to my husband, who is always wide angle, big picture stuff. It always looks like we have been to different places!!!'
and this one...
'Now I proudly welcome you to the not-so-perfect world of the hundreds and thousands.'
Don't they look fantastic? Thanks Tracy...
Tamara's close ups are next...
'I couldn’t decide which of these two photos to send in for today’s prompt, so here they both are! I went for trees today as my close up shot as I love the texture of the bark on the different trees. I have a “Ghost Gum” whose smooth, pale trunk glistens in the sunlight and a Paperbark with its layered, peeling, rough bark. I love the texture difference between these two trees and I see a lot of them as they are common both around work and across Townsville as a whole. My photography tip for today is vary your vantage point – I looked at all different ways to shoot this one, but my favourite direction was UP as it draws your eye up the tree and to the blue sky above. Try looking up, squatting, kneeling, standing on something (carefully!) and looking down or lying on the ground you would be surprised at the different perspective you can get and the fantastic shots that can result.'
Really cool photos! Thanks Tamara.
OK I've got others to post too however for some reason I'm having trouble getting any more photos to upload. I will finish this post off here and I'll be back later with Annette's and my photos.
Kim xx
