Hey all you Aussie and New Zealand Fiskateers.....

We can't let the Northern Hemisphere Fiskateers have all the fun.....so this shall be something fun for those FISKATEERS in the Southern Hemisphere. REMEMBER when US LEAD FISKATEER Rebecca Peck started the "Friendship Ball" for those in the US...well....instead of a Friendship Ball....we'll have a "Friendship Jar" which shall be in a gorgeous little box....this shall be travelling around Australia/New Zealand.....visiting Fiskateers homes......sound like fun?

Back to School

You can use your trusty fiskars tools, and a few of your craft supplies to customize and create items for school. That's right, summer is coming to an end and school is starting back up. To help you prepare the fiskars design team is here to share several great crafting ideas to send your child off to school in style!

 

A few tips to get you started:

* Keep wear and tear in mind. Items that are going in and out of a backpack frequently should have plenty of adhesive and be designed so that elements won't tear off. Flimsy items are best left for projects that won't have so much friction and use.

* Get your child involved! Have them help you pick colors, products to use, and even let them help you craft. Time together plus craft time is a good thing!

* Keep it simple. A simple idea crafted with plenty of love will be cherished.

My son is starting middle school, and is “so over” cutesy themed school supplies. He loved the idea of this old school book cover…with some modern style. To dress up the plain cover, I tore one edge of a piece of patterned paper, rounded the opposite corners, and inked the edges. Next, I layered a strip of patterned paper on top, allowing it to wrap around the spine of the book. The Sun Circle Border Punch made it easy to create a sunburst, allowing a circular stamp from Lil Davis to fit neatly inside. This was the perfect spot to add a touch of school spirit…a pawprint punched with the large Furry Friends punch. Go Catamounts!

CHA - FISKARS BOOTH 1323 the place to be

Hi guys,

I have been playing with a few ideas and making cards with my photos. This photo was taken at a mate's place and I manipulated it a bit with Photoshop and then printed it as a standard 6 x 4 print.

To make the card I grabbed my cardstock, using my trusty Fiskars trimmer, I cut my card and scored it,

I also used my trimmer to cut about 5mm from each side of the photo, I like it to look like it's matted, but you could make your photo fit your card to fit it perfectly. I ran my stazon ink pad around the edge of the photo to give it an edge, added some ribbon and the tag and it's done.

Why not take some photos of your favourite flowers and make your valentine a card from it. I would love to see what you come up with.....I will be back with another idea soon

Well it's only a few days until all the fun at the CHA trade Show  in the US....this Show the Lead Fiskateers,Rebecca,Tami,Cheryl and Angela have heaps of fun planned during their themed days in the Fiskateer Booth.

Did you know........

The tradition of having Australia Day as a national holiday on 26 January is a recent one. Not until 1935 did all the Australian states and territories use that name to mark that date. Not until 1994 did they begin to celebrate Australia Day consistently as a public holiday on that date¹.

Australia Day, 26 January, is our nation's biggest annual celebration. The huge range of community events and programs on Australia Day are coordinated by local Australia Day committees and councils, an Australia Day organisation in each State and Territory, and the National Australia Day Council.

       So what are you doing today to Celebrate AUSTRALIA DAY ?
