Getting in the Christmas Spirit

Can you believe that it's the last day of November.....and we all know what that means don't we......

Silly Season starts tomorrow....December 1st....and it can be a hectic time for families with school winding down for the year,concerts,break up parties,work parties,family get togethers,etc,etc......

So to make it easy for those of you who like to create your own Christmas Projects we are continuing to share Christmas Projects on here right up to Christmas.....so make sure you drop by....

Here is a fun Christmas Card I created using the fabulous Fiskars Everywhere Punch......it makes creating windows like this sooooooooooo easy!

Then I just added a few fun Christmas Embellishments from the Fundamentals Range and I stamped an image with my Fiskars Stamp Block!

.......an easy way to create a fun card with a difference......you could easily add any other embellishments or stamps that you have in your stash!

Fisk-a-teers November sketch challenge part 2

Hello there! Today i am going to share with you the second part of the November Fisk-a-teers Sketch challenge. you can join in here.

Here is the sketch Rebecca shared with us...

And here is the layout i created with the sketch.

I used my trusty Fiskars Trimmer, Fiskars Washed ashore border punch, Fiskars Apron lace border punch and some old heidi grace papers and embellishments. THe alphabet i cut with my slice machine.

Bauble and ribbon card by Azza

Azza Sedrak from NSW has sent through two more gorgeous Christmas  Cards to share with you all.....

Great to see how effective the Fiskars Border Punches are on Cards.....hasn't Azza done a great job!

Love the way Azza has created the Gold Baubles on the first card....and with the added green ribbon looks amazing.....................

That added Bella Swirl looks fabulous in the second card doesn't it and how cute is that pic  with the added Bow....gorgeous!

The background cardstock is by Fundamentals available in Spotlight stores now....

 

What an Inspirational story -

I love it when I check my inbox each day and find something really inspiring like Beryl's latest Quilt!

Beryl is a real inspiration to all of us who have those UFO'S sitting around just waiting to be finished off.......she is FISKATEER # 7212 and lives in  New Zealand

Here's what Beryl had to say in her email this morning...

Hi Lyn,

My Sue Bonnet Quilt is now completed, one more to finish & one to start planning.   This quilt is for my Granddaughter & I made the applique blocks a number of years ago & they sat & they sat waiting for something to be done. 

Last year they got brought out again & fabric was found to make the disappearing nine blocks, then it got its batting& backing fabric added.........  that was July last year.  Next part of it journey was being rolled up & left on the top of the lounge sofa (thankfully it has high head rests so it couldn't be seen) until this past week. 

Many videos later,& encouragement for DH & friends it made it back to the sewing machine for the final leg of the journey.

Fisk-a-teers November sketch challenge

Well i have been a little slack this month with the fisk-a-teers challenges but finally i have got around to doing the sketch challenges. If you go the the Fisk-a-teers blog Here.

So here is the sketch for the card. Rebecca from fisk-a-teers thought  monochromatic would look good or stamp the same image 3 times .

And here is my card.

I have used my New Fiskars surecut trimmer,and my Fiskars washed ashore border punch.

Miniature Christmas Embroidery Hoops

Difficulty rating: Beginner

These miniature embroidered hoops are small enough to hang on a Christmas tree, but would also look sweet grouped together and hung on a wall. Place them in the entrance way to your home and they would wish welcome visitors 'Happy Holidays' or present them as a unique and heartfelt handmade gift to someone special.

I used wool felt in various colors for the backing fabric of my ornaments, though you could use almost any material. Consider using natural linen or even burlap for a more rustic style, or choose different colored cottons to co-ordinate with your existing holiday decor.

I used the Fiskars Circles template and drew around the 3.5” diameter circle onto the felt and cut it out.

Next, I selected some Fiskars Christmas stamps and stamped my design in ink directly onto my felt. I recommend trying out a few different designs on paper before you commit to stamping on to the felt or fabric. Also, test your stamps on a fabric scrap to make sure the ink doesn’t bleed onto the fabric.

After placing the felt into my 3” embroidery hoop and securing it tightly, I began to stitch along the lines made by the ink stamped design. In order to accurately follow the inked design, I varied the number of strands in my embroidery floss. Where the inked lines were thin I used as little as two strands. With the thicker lines, I used three or four. Even using two strands, the floss was thick enough to cover the ink lines completely.

When your design is complete, thread a small piece of ribbon under the screw to hang on your Christmas tree or wall.

If you are anything like me, you might want to buy a few more embroidery hoops in different sizes right from the start, to save you the inevitable return trip back to the store for more supplies. I found this project a lot of fun and just had to make more!

Holiday Wreath Card

It's always a bonus when you can find alternative uses for punches to create other shapes. Punching multiple shapes out of the Fiskars Evergreen punch and forming it in a circle, it creates a wreath large enough to be a focal point on a holiday card. The punched jingle bells are the perfect size to adorn the wreath. With the addition of a perfect bow, you can spread the holiday cheer.

Instructions:

For the card base, trim ivory cardstock to 9" x 6". Fold it in half to make a 4.5" x 6" side-folded card. Round the corners with a punch.

Cut an ivory "grid" patterned paper to 4.5" x 6". Round the corners and adhere to the front of the card.

Add horizontal strips to the bottom of the card using coordinating patterned papers. Round the bottom edge corners.

To assemble the wreath, follow these steps:

• Punch 7 pieces each of green dot paper and dark green cardstock, using the Fiskars Evergreen squeeze punch.
• Lightly trace a 1" circle on the card using a pencil. This will be the guide to lining up the Evergreen pieces into a circular shape.
• Adhere the green dot evergreens around the traced circle, evenly spaced, with tree trunks toward the traced circle.

• Add the dark green evergreens in between each green dot evergreen, with the tree tops toward the traced circle.

• Carefully erase the traced circle.

5. Attach a red bow to the top of the formed wreath using a glue dot or other strong adhesive.

6. Punch 2 pieces of jingle bells with silver glitter cardstock. Adhere them below the red bow using foam adhesive.

7. Punch an oval shape out of the ivory grid paper. Stamp the Happy Holidays sentiment with red stamping ink. Apply it to the card with a foam adhesive.

It shall be on Friday December 16th from 11am.......we'll have heaps of fun for all FISKATEERS....and thanks to FISKARS AUSTRALIA all attendees shall receive ...............sh........sh............................not telling yet....LOL!
