Sew-a-long.... Prt2 - cutting out the pieces

Welcome the the Fiskars Craft Sew-a-long!

So glad you could join me in this sew-a-long where I show you step by step on a weekly basis on how to make something. You are sewing along with me!

This post is the 2nd and guides you in cutting your pieces. You have one week to complete the cutting of the bag pieces. This post however will be up for the duration that this blog exists so you have plenty of time to do this if you don't have time this time around.

You will be making this handbag/tote bag with me....

 

Cutting your pieces:

For main piece of bag cut 35" x 16"

For the shoulder strap cut 38"x7"

cut the pockets as follows:

• 10" x 7 3/4" for iPad pocket (also should fit your kindle or small pad of paper)
• 5 1/2" x 3"  for the Pen pocket
• 5" x 5" for Cell phone pocket
• 6" x 8" for wallet pocket

I marked the top of the pocket and labeled the pockets with pen.

You should have some left over pieces too... these we will use later for decorating our finished bag. So keep them.

We will start preping and sewing the pockets to the main bag piece.
