PAPERIFIC is TERRIFIC !!!

If you are thinking of going into PAPERIFIC tomorrow.....here are a few sneak peek pics sent through by Toni.......great catching up with you and Anna yesterday! Thanks for the pics....

I actually did the Make 'n'take on the Heaven Scent Stand this afternoon.......a fun Card.....I had been watching participants having fun on the Stand the past 2 days as I was working on the Door.....so when I knocked off work.....I also joined in with all the fun!

There are 12 Stands offering FREE Make 'n'takes.....this is a great way to learn NEW techniques and try NEW products.......

Toni's sister and fellow Fiskateer Anna had a  lovely day shopping and learning new ideas for her Cardmaking....the sisters told me about some great specials they found around the different Stands....so today I checked them out and came home with some MUST HAVE products...as you do.....LOL!

PAPERIFIC is on again tomorrow from 9:30am - 4pm......finishes an hour earlier SUNDAY.....so make sure you allow plenty of time.....TONTINE also have a SALE in the building next door.....so check that out also...some cheap pillows and doonas,etc.....

I'm in the middle of preparing some food tonight in readiness for a family birthday lunch tomorrow....I have the 4 boys coming home for the day......love having them altogether........and of course the gorgeous grandkids will also be up here.....

Making a Paper Easter Lilly - tutorial

Hi all.
Well Easter is quickly aproaching. About a week to go!

One song has been stuck in my head. It is called "Girl in Stilletos" by Anna Mac

I kept thinking I need to make myself some Stilletoes!

These are for the ladies I am close to in church.

I couldn't stop!

The template to the shoes is found here....The daily digital (template link is at the end of the post)

Thanks to the help of Fiskars tools: scissors and embossing stylus
And the help of Bella! Sugar Candy cardstocks and Ruby Rock-it Nostalgia chipboard embellishments/stickers.

See the Easter Lilly in the shoe?
Well here is a Tutorial on how to make yours!

1. Cut out two petal formations in white cardstock per flower.
here is the photo of the template (draw up your own any size you want)

2. Spray each petal formation with water and scrunch up into balls then flatten a bit and dry with heat gun.

3. Colour the middles of each petal formation with green ink.

4. to make the stemans of the flower take the white ones you buy at any Spotlight store in the floral/wedding section and ink up the stems in green then put flowersoft on the tips. Let dry

5. Put holes in the middle of the petal formations

4. Put three stamens in the middle of two petal formations.

5. put glue near the stamens and pinch the petals up and let dry.

6. Cut half inch strips of green cardtock about 6" long

7. Fold the green strips in half and put double sided tape down the middle. Attach to flower head with the bottom of the flower attached where the stamens stick out.

8. Curl the white petals back a little. And you are finished.... another addicting thing. Making flowers!

PAPERIFIC EXPO - It starts today...woohoo..................

WOWIE....once this blog post goes live today I'll be in Melbourne at PAPERIFIC!

I'm so darn excited to be working there again with the wonderful PAPERIFIC TEAM....we have such a fun time! Weare all crafters who love sharing our passion with others.....

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - Easter Card 2

Hello back again with another easter card idea....

Here is my example:

I used the Banners Away cartridge with the interchangable boarder punch and the eggs/background are embossed with the yellow Blossoms Texture plate.

When I use the embossing plates I hold shapes down with sticky tape. Saves them from moving around.

groovy rainbow and up in the clouds- a match made in heaven.

Good evening everyone!

The kids are quiet and hubby on night shift so i finally manged to get into my Fiskars punches and created a little share for you.

As you all must know by now.....(we have been plugging them all last month) the Fiskars interchangeable border punches will be heading their way to a spotlight store shortly. So with this in mind i wanted to share a neat little something about 2 of the cartridges.

Did you know that the groovy rainbow and the up in the clouds cartridge fit together??? thats's right the shape is the same so you can layer them on top of each other to get some great effects.

I have made a card using some echo park papers in dots and stripes and layered the papers with both punches.

I then coloured in a some odd girl stamp and poped her on the card.

What do you think???

Nostalgia Ruby Rock-it Easter Basket Tutorial

Hi all. Would you believe it? Easter is just around the corner and the kids in NZ have one more week after this one left for school term! This term has gone soooo fast!

Well this morning I got some happy mail from Fynmark (the company that does Bella! and Ruby Rock-it)

We as a team here at Fiskars Craft has been asked to create things with the Nostalgia collection and Bella! Sugar Candy (sparkly and embossed cardstocks).

Yes only recieved this morning and I leaped into creating with it and here is the tutorial for these easter baskets....

Step one:
Cut out 5" circle using Supersized Circles

step 2:
score a 3.50" circle template inside the circle

Step 3:
Cut 1/2" increments up to the scored circle

step 4:
fold along the score line

step 5:
Cut 5" strip from 12x1" cardstock

Step 6:
Use Adhesive tape along bottom of this strip

Step 7:
Stick around the basket base and Staple closed.

Step 8:
Cut 1" strip then staple to basket side for the handle.

now decorate the basket with a punched 1" strip of cardstock on the top. Punched with the boarder punch "up in the clouds"

now add the chipboard pieces and paper twine where you wanted.

and you are finished!

Easter Egg Holders

Designer: Lisa Storms

Difficulty rating: Beginner

Easter egg holders are a fun way to display your favorite eggs and also make adorable place settings at a meal or party. You can use them with dyed eggs or plastic eggs filled with goodies.

Nest Holder

1. Using circle cutter or Ultra ShapeXpress with Super Sized Circles template on a craft mat, cut a six inch circle from brown cardstock.

2. Beginning at outer edge, cut a rugged spiral to center. Purposely make choppy cuts to give randomness to edges.

3. Crumple up cardstock spiral well to distress.

4. Adhere tip of spiral to a thin cut from an empty paper towel roll as shown.

5. Loosely wrap rest of spiral around holder and adhere (low temp hot glue works great) to a piece of brown cardstock. Once dry, trim off excess cardstock from scrap.

6. Cut a few thin slivers of leftover brown cardstock and spiral around an opened paper clip. Adhere randomly around nest for extra texture to complete.

Grass Holder

1. Cut an approximately 1-3/4 inch wide strip of green cardstock long enough to fit around egg with slight overlap. (Width can be adjusted to fit particular letter stickers if needed.)

2. Cut an approximately 1-3/8 inch wide strip of lighter green cardstock one quarter inch longer than original strip.

3. Punch one side of each strip with grass border punch.

4. Tape taller strip into a roll and add a row of foam adhesive dots along bottom of exterior.

5. Add shorter strip around original roll and tape closed.

6. Add letter stickers to add name.

7. Gently curl out blades of grass for dimension.

Flower Holder

1. Cut a one inch wide strip of green cardstock long enough to fit around egg with a little excess; roll and tape closed. (I learned to add a little after I made mine since the petals add bulk inside the roll. In hindsight I wish my eggs fit lower in the roll.)

2. Punch ovals from desired cardstock.

3. Fold over tip of each oval and adhere around interior of roll.

4. Repeat with a row of smaller ovals if desired.

5. Gently round each oval for dimension.
