Thank you for this fun challenge Lyn!!! I was excited to make my window card for your challenge as I don't use my Everywhere Punch as often as I should, so it was a great prompt to give it a workout. I also knew what to make with my window. Several years ago I saw a card made using a paper curling technique with double-sided patterned paper in The Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine and it has been waiting in the back of my mind on my "techniques-to-try" list since then. It was also a great opportunity to use up some scraps too. After I tried quilling last year I immediately thought of that little strip that is usually "waste" when punching borders would be handy to use on quilling projects, so started saving them. Today I got to use some!!! I also cut some other scrap bits of cardstock in to different widths and lengths for curling. I curled the strips using different diameter wooden skewers.
Fiskars tools used include my Circle Everywhere Punch, Night Owl squeeze punch (my latest punch purchase from Spotlight), Mirco-Tip scissors, Fingertip Craft Knife and green Self Healing Craft mat. The card is 6" square, with the patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Peachy Keen 6" Paper Pad (just trimmed off a couple of mm from each side), everything else is textured cardstock.
I used a fine tip paintbrush to apply Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue to the flat part of each curled strip. it worked out great as the adhesive dries fast and dries clear, so by the time I had set one curl in place and had the next one trimmed and ready to apply, the previous one was well and truly adhered, no movement at all.
Not sure if I will add a sentiment to the front yet ... thought it would be a bit cluttered with all the pattern and curls, but plan on using it as a Thinking of You card. It was so much fun building up the nest too, so I think I will be making some more, after I work out how I can mail them!!!
Have you sent your entry in yet? Entry details can be found here on Lyn's Warm Up To WINTER challenge post.
Fabulous and thrifty card, Tracy! I've wondered how those little strips might be to quill with and now I know! Thank you! Love your card--the owl and next are adorable.

Wow what a fantastic card, you never fail to impress me Tracy. I am going to print this idea, because I know my memory isn't good enough lol and I am going to start saving the bits when I use the border punch too - love that idea.
