I have really enjoyed the wonderful projects and fun times you have shared with us over the years.  I also appreciate the wonderful opportunity you have given me to expand my crafty horizons as a Guest Blogger too - it really has been a wonderful experience and adventure for me - Thank You!!!

I'm so sad that it is time to say goodbye to this site
but I look forward to seeing you out in cyberspace,

As always, I have used LOTS of Fiskars tools and will post each project over in Fiskateers soon, so if you're interested, you will be able to see all the project details there.

On a side note, I have to say that I was THRILLED to get the 3/4" circle pop-up punch at Kaisercraft Moorabbin yesterday - it is definitely a MUST HAVE shape & size that will work perfectly with all my Round 'n Round squeeze punches ... can't wait until they have a bigger range in store :)

I'm officially obsessed!

Now I know I'm officially obsessed with Fiskars!

You all know that Its Fiskars 360th year in trading - right?

Well I thought I'd do something special for the people at USA headquarters....

I made this Scrapbook doll for them.

The "tools" are made with polymer clay (du-kit)

a boarder punch, squeeze punch, the ultra shape express and a 12" trimmer.

 

I used the Fiskars 12 in 1 sewing tool - mainly the thread ripper and stuffing tool.

See what I mean about being obessed!

Mothers day card

Hi all

Here is an idea for a mothers day card.... (Mothers day NZ and Aussy - 12 May) 

The torquise flowers are hand made by me with fiskars tools: scissors, embossing stylus.

I drew on the leaves with a copic marker brush end.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to thank you all for dropping by the Fiskars Blog the past 6 years....and as I won't be around the next few days thought I'd better say goodbye now.

Unfortunately the Blog has already been suspended by Fiskars Australia to TYPEPAD so you are unable to leave comments anymore...sorry about that.....our Admin access has already been denied as a result of this....so sorry  but it's out of my control.

I'd like to thank those crafty friends who sent me personal messages for my 60th birthday last week ....especially seeing you couldn't leave comments here any more....thank you...I really appreciate your emails and messages.

Thank you all for your support over the years....I'll miss my Fiska-friends.....I will be checking in to the Fiskateers every now and again......but having a break from any work for a few weeks after Easter.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE.........and I'm sure out paths shall cross again in the world of crafting!!!

Crafty fun

Hi all.

This morning I spent some time with some really wonderful ladies in a crafty session.
I set up the tables in groups of 4 as there where four projects.

Two greeting cards, a magnetic book mark and a goodie bag.

Only about 4 out of the 16 ladies had crafted or got a craft stash at home. So alot of very new crafty "recuits"!!! yipee!!!

Here are the ladies in action....

Fiskars nicely donated some prizes!

I wrapped them up like this...

one prize winner, hard creating.

This prize winner lept and said a great yipee!!!! when she won her tree lever punch.

Over all it was a very successful time.
We all wanted to create for longer but alas time had run out and other things for the day had to be done.

Thank you so much Fiskars and Bruce Underwood for helping me get the prizes together. There are 4 very happy ladies in Christchurch.

***shhh but I'm sure some left to rush off to Wharehouse Stationery, Papanui to buy some punches etc. There  were a lot of questions about where to get the Everywhere punch, and lever punches and what the cost of them where.

WOOHOO...... I'm now a SENIOR

Thank you to my family and friends for all your kind birthday wishes for my " 60th " birthday on Thursday Mar 21st......  I really appreciate all of them....THANK YOU!

So I'm now officially a SENIOR.....OMG.... you know what that means don't you.....cheaper MOVIE TICKETS......woohoo............I no longer have to pay full price......it's been nagging away at me the past 2 years....because every time Rod and I go to the movies...he has only paid like $9 whilst I would pay $18.....LOL!

I'd like to share a couple of lovely handmade cards that I received from some FISK-A-FRIENDS this week...........firstly from Anna from Monbulk...thank you!

Anna always creates the most stunning cards and it's an absolute pleasure to be the recipient of this card.......xoxo Anna.

.....and my Scrapping buddy Carolyn....sent this over from Western Australia....

I love receiving cards......but when they are handmade....my heart melts...I love the thought that goes into anything handmade.....thanks Carolyn and Jim!

...and my family.....all put in and gave me the most gorgeous gifts.....thanks to my hubby Rod my 4 boys.....Brendan,Michael, Brian and Tim....Sally,Jess,Jess....and Sam and Gemma.................they are my birthstone Aquamarine with Diamonds.....

Flash back - sewing dolls - Alice in wonderland

What do you call yourself? Alice.*The* Alice?

Hi all - a bit of a creative diarrhea here.

And a confession: I'm obsessed with dolls at present. And Alice in wonderland... I blame Lynne Phelps over at the Altered Alice blog for putting out yet another great inspirational Challenge. But I did have to share this with our FiskarsCraft readers too.... Go here to see my other dolls.

This month we were to include a tea cup or tea pot.

Here is Alice from Tim Burtons alice in wonderland....

Yes she is Alice.... I know Alice - I know him anywhere! I know him anywhere....

With this face and these eyes I think its evidence enough to say she has spent too long with the Mad Hatter. What is in that tea? What was in that upelkuchen or that Drink me drink?

Eyes made with polymer clay. I Asked the Fiskateers what colour I should do her eyes and Bronwyn mentioned the above colours and that really struck the right cord with me and this doll. Thanks Bronwyn.

Cheeks are coloured with stampin up stamp pad regal rose and sponged on.

I hand stitched her hair, the black buttons and the neckline of the dress.
I used Fiskars New Titanium rotary cutter for cutting out the dress and tea cup.
Here is what the Titanium rotary cutter looks like...

Its really easy to use. Once more you can swap the blade over to the other side for left handers. AND if you do alot of cutting for your quilts and other fabric endevours this is a relaxing tool to handle and hand cramping is not an issue with all that cutting as this handle is so relaxing to grip. The blade is also titanium so it will stay sharper for longer.... ******a little birdy tells me that Fiskars are thinking Titanium for blades! Can't wait for that to happen!***** This rotary cutter will be in Spotlight stores soon  so keep an eye out......

ok on with alice....

Hand stitched her hem line of the dress, boots and boot details.  Some of the boots where constructed with Helmar premium glue and fabric  stiffeners (iron on and extra thick for the soles).

I hand stitched the fingerless gloves and some of the tea cup/saucer.
This also has extra thick fabric stiffener in it to hold its shape. Man Teacups are rather fiddly to make!

No 8. Heidi Grace limited edition scissors.
and the micro tip scissors for trimming threads.

12 in 1 sewing tool for stuffing, turning in the right way and stitch ripping (mistakes were made/corrected).

My hubby wants me to make tweedle dee and tweedle dum... I'm not sure about that.

I  know my next obsession though is to make another quilted road mat for  my son in the form of "Radiator Springs" (think Cars the movie). The Titanium Rotary cutter will be rather handy for all the cutting for that project.

Flash back - cross stitching with Fiskars

The one thing I have loved doing is discovering new uses for my Fiskars tools.... Just like making x-stitch patterns with the USE shapetemplates.

Cross stitching with Fiskars

I have been an avid cross stitcher since I was taught by my mum at the age of about 7-8 years old.
I think I started off with kits and now I put pictures through a cross stitch program called PC stitch and also design my own in that program.

The most fun thing is though - is passing on that skill to the next generation.
My daughter mentioned that she wanted to do some cross stitch too. So I went to the shop looked at kits and thought that I had all the threads and aida cloth at home so all I needed to get was a hoop for her.

So what does Fiskars got to do with Cross stitch?

Instead of going to the cross stitch program and chart approach for my daughter...
I decided to do the picture direct on the aida cloth approach instead.

First I asked her if she wanted a flower or a butterfly. She chose butterfly.

So I got out the Fiskars butterfly-2 shape template.

Next put your template onto the aida cloth (I used 14 count as that is what I had on hand) and draw the shape onto the cloth with a pen.

You build your butterfly until you get your desired picture.

Next the colours were chosen.... and the cloth put in the new hoop (pink of course what other colour is there for a 7 year old girl).

She is so good.... Fiskars colours are there..... Orange and bright green. Awesome!

Next - so she knows where to put what colour we got out the maker pens and coloured in the spots where she wanted the colours.

All there is left, is to start stitching. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

So far its one on one very slow coaching on how to form the crosses with the thread.
My daughter is getting there and is nearly finished the head already in just 2 hours. She is a trouper and is putting up with me saying.... "not quite.... I'll unpick this and you can do it again."
