What a fun day in Bairnsdale

 

I love it when I go into stores like Spotlight Bairnsdale and the kids come and play with their parents.....we sure had some EASTER fun today....

Adrian sure had fun creating his fun Pop up Chick Card that he made with his Nana today for his Mum......what a lovely thing to do....good on you Adrian...lovely meeting you and your Nana today....I'm sure your Mum shall love your handmade card...

It's great when the kids come into the stores to craft...they really just go-for-it with the fabulous Fiskars Punches.....

I have loved demonstrating in stores for FISKARS......interacting and educating others with the Fiskars Tools! My in-store involvement has been so rewarding.......

Easter bag toppers

I love giving my neighbours gifts so this Easter is no exception!

I made these Easter bag topers with Heidi Grace - Sweetest Bug cardstock and icon 3D stickers. (available at Spotlight in July)

Fiskars Frame template and Ultra shape express is what is used for the shape of the topper.

The mini easter eggs are M&M's speckled eggs. They are truley yummy!!!

Blue Butterflies Basket

1. Using the AdvantEdge Punch System die cut the butterfly border from aqua and white paper. Fix the aqua border around the edge using PVA glue.

2. Trim a strip of aqua and white paper to create the handle making the white paper slightly narrower. Using the Interchangeable Punch and Clouds Design punch both sides of the paper and fix together with PVA glue. Attach inside the box.

3. Cut out aqua and white butterflies from the borders. Apply adhesive to the bodies only and fix in place as shown. Decorate the aqua butterflies with self adhesive pearls.

 

             This project was designed by Kath Stewart...isn't it cute!!

I must admit I can't wait for this Advantage Edge System to arrive in Australia....and the Butterfly Design would have to be one of my favourite at the moment.....here's another gorgeous project that Kath has been created using this same design....but this time on a Card....

Easter Card Making

Okay...

So normally I do not make Easter cards.

I have made them in the past but usually for design team obligations. This year would be the first year I actually made a card for Easter of my own free choice.

 My Mum had mentioned she was going to go and buy a card for the place that my Dad goes to weekly respite to. I suggest to her that I would make her a card to give to them.

So with a bit of help from my new favourite Fiskars interchangeable punch I was able to get creative very quickly.

Here's my Easter card for this year.

Just in time....PHEW !

I have finally finished making EASTER BASKETS for my gorgeous grandkids.....SAMUEL and GEMMA...so thought I'd share with you!

Sam's basket has a few pairs of socks,3 little chocolate eggs and a little chick.....whilst Gemma's basket doesn't have the chocolate eggs.....seeing she is only 6 and a half months old.....LOL!

I hope they like them......

Happy Easter Card by Lyn Smith

This is a really quick and easy Easter card using Fiskars Kaleidescope and Water Threading border punches, the greeting also uses the end part of the Fiskars arrow squeeze punch to create the notched end.

 

All of the papers, the flower die-cut and the tiny heart/flower rub-on are from Kaisercraft's Bubblegum Hills collection.

Easter Egg Hunt

An Easter egg hunt can be a fun party, playdate, or time with family. My two favorite Easter decorating themes are bunnies and carrots, and I’ve come up with lots of ways to create DIY party fun using Fiskars tools.

Let’s start at the very beginning with an invitation that is adorable from both the front and back. Create ears by cutting out a circle from the largest Circles shape template using the Ultra ShapeXpress and repositioning the template overlapping the circle, cutting again to form an ear shape. Trace the top arch of a circle from the Super Sized Circle Template onto a folded card to cut off enough to make room for adding ears above. Corner round the bottom corners of card. When designing characters, I have found that keeping the design super simple often yields the cutest results. So this little fellow has hole punches for eyes, an oval nose, and a mouth created by partially punching an XL heart into the edge of black cardstock. Feed the punch back into the same place overlapping just slightly and punch again as shown below. A scalloped circle punch added to the back of the card adds charm as a bunny tail.

Somewhere between my obsession with banners and paper strip ornaments came the fun carrot garland above. Best of all, it’s easy to make. Using a paper trimmer, cut a 1.5 inch strip of orange cardstock and punch down both sides with scalloped border punch. Trim three strips of .75 inch green cardstock in lengths varying from 5 to 5.5 inches long. Fold all strips in half. Sandwich and staple as shown below. Pull the ends of the orange strips around and staple to secure in a carrot shape. String carrots together using a 1/16 inch hole punch.

An important part of an Easter egg hunt is, of course, something to carry your eggs in. Add color and personality to dollar store baskets with name tags and paper grass.

To make your own grass filler in custom colors, cut up a sheet of cardstock into .25 inch strips using paper trimmer. Run strips through paper crimper (you can feed several at a time), cut in half, and crumple up. Name tags punched using the XX-Large Tag are quickly embellished with bunnies creatively trimmed from flowers as shown below. 1/16 inch circle punched eyes (backed with black cardstock) and a 1/4 inch heart punched nose is all you need to give the face personality.

After hunting, the kids will likely need to refuel with a meal or snack. Cupcakes are always a popular party choice, and I decided to plant the easiest paper carrots into chocolate frosting dirt. Cut one inch strips of orange cardstock and corner round both top corners. Run a grass border punch along green cardstock and trim to create carrot tops. Glue onto flat toothpicks to insert.

I always consider the dining table part of the party décor. Here are a couple of very simple ways to add some fun to the table.

Create a dimensional placemat. Run a grass border punch along one edge of green cardstock. Using a scoring blade in your rotary trimmer, score a line one inch from the top of punched border and fold up.

Adding a small pom pom or cotton ball to a bunny’s tail is just the sweetest detail. To embellish simple patterned paper strip napkin rings, I cut out a stamped bunny from the Flower Garden stamp set and glued on a small, white pom pom.

This Easter, put your crafting tools to work to turn regular cardstock into a truly special event.

Making a Paper Easter Lilly - tutorial

Hi all.
Well Easter is quickly aproaching. About a week to go!

I kept thinking I need to make myself some Stilletoes!

These are for the ladies I am close to in church.

I couldn't stop!

See the Easter Lilly in the shoe?
Well here is a Tutorial on how to make yours!

1. Cut out two petal formations in white cardstock per flower.
here is the photo of the template (draw up your own any size you want)

2. Spray each petal formation with water and scrunch up into balls then flatten a bit and dry with heat gun.

3. Colour the middles of each petal formation with green ink.

4. to make the stemans of the flower take the white ones you buy at any Spotlight store in the floral/wedding section and ink up the stems in green then put flowersoft on the tips. Let dry

5. Put holes in the middle of the petal formations

4. Put three stamens in the middle of two petal formations.

5. put glue near the stamens and pinch the petals up and let dry.

6. Cut half inch strips of green cardtock about 6" long

7. Fold the green strips in half and put double sided tape down the middle. Attach to flower head with the bottom of the flower attached where the stamens stick out.

8. Curl the white petals back a little. And you are finished.... another addicting thing. Making flowers!
