Happy World Card Making Day

Did you know that it's WORLD CARD MAKING DAY today..........................here is the Card I made for my SIL who is going through a really tough time at the moment.........her Cancer has returned....she has a tumour growth the size of a golf ball..................so it's not good.

I'm hoping this card might cheer her up a little..................and unfortunately she won't be at my GIRLS DAY IN on Monday October 22nd....as that's the day of her op......

She is taking it very well...is positive in the way she is dealing with this .....I think it's hit Rod harder.

Celebrating 10,000 FISKATEERS

Did you know that there are now 10,000 FISKATEERS around the world? Isn't that amazing!

To help celebrate this fantastic Milestone we are going to ask our Aussie and New Zealand FISKATEERS to share their creative "HAPPY 10,000 " with us all.......you must use your pair of Fiskateer Scissors in your creation along with any tools or products from your stash like Lead Fiskateer Tania posted on Fiskateers.

If you have been checking into the FISKATEER site in the past few weeks you would have seen some fun and creative takes on this project posted in the gallery. Here's an example that I found which was done by Tracy Maloney....

We would like you to post your project into the FISKATEER gallery and then send us a link to

You can also just add you link underneath this Blog post if you wish to.

If you don't yet have your FISKATEER scissors or haven't yet joined up......then you can use any pair of Fiskars Scissors that you have ........we are looking for a magic number this time before we announce a  winner.....so go for it........once we reach that number we'll announce a winner..................prizes shall be chosen randomly and  can only be won by Australian OR New Zealand Fiskateers.  Not joined up yet.....no probs.....just click on the Fiskateer link and follow the directions to join up.

Aussie Fiskateer Circle Journal

I have finally finished my entry into Karen's Circle Journal so thought I'd share here with you all.

I'm part of an Aussie Fiskateer Circle Journal Group and we have POST OFF this Friday for ROUND 2.

Karen lives in East Gippsland and is a fellow Fiskateer who loves travelling when she can.....that's something we have in common......anyway....Karen's Theme for her Circle Journal is "PLACES" .

I chose to include pics from the Netherlands.......from our visit to Zaanse Schans...a beautiful old town which still have working Windmills!

Father's Day is just around the corner

Father's Day is just around the corner, so I hope you have started making some cards to help celebrate their special Sunday on the 2nd of September.

Here is a card that I thought might be a nice one to try. 

Instead of having the contrast butterfly you could put "DAD" or a sentiment.  Instead of butterflies you might have a shape that would be perfect for your special someone.  I am going to try stamping some clock faces on circles for my next one.  The black and grey may not be your style, so you could use bright and cheery colours instead.

Do you recognise all the Fiskars squeeze punches?  There are lots of Flit On By butterflies, a Seal of Approval (extra large scalloped circle) and Round 'n Round (large circle).  Of course my trusty FingerTip craft knife and Self Healing craft mat got a workout here too.

This card was inspired by Fiskateer Maya #351.  There are so many talented crafters over at Fiskateers, an international community of crafters, all who share our love of Fiskars tools.  Not a Fiskateer yet?  It is FREE and FUN, quick and easy to join too - here is the link - I look forward to seeing you there.

We have take off - ROUND 1

Well we have sent off our Aussie FISKATEER Circle Journals the this past week and now the CJ's have been arriving at their next destination in the Circle......exciting to participate in these CJ'S....

I now have Karen's CJ safely in my home and shall be working on my entry pages into it over the coming few weeks......and then we post off again AUGUST 31st....so keep an eye on the Blog for some more sharing.........................both Tracy and Tara......post directly to the Blog......

new LEAD FISKATEERS - new changes - it's full steam ahead

Hi everyone,

Whilst I have been on holidays in EUROPE the FISKATEERS have announced 2 NEW LEAD FISKATEERS.....EMMA and TANIA......they are taking over from the fabulous REBECCA PECK,CHERYL WATERS,ANGELA DANIELS and TAMI BAYER....many of you know that already and have welcomed them....but I thought I'd mention it here as well in case you are wondering what has happened over at http://www.fiskateers.com/.

I'm slowly getting use to the changes this year.....firstly the NEW FISKATEER SITE.....and now NEW LEADS......like any change it takes time to make those adjustments and feel comfortable.

 

I've been spending some time tonight catching up on the gallery posts over there and reading the messageboard.....so much fun over there.....lots of things have transpired since I've been away.
