Light Tree Canvas

I saw this idea here. And this is what I made with that idea. 

You can see the lights better in this one below, though the image is blurrier. This looks so much better in real life. Really hard to photograph with my non skills.

And this is how I made it. Easy.

I had already created the background of the canvas for a previous class sample. I cut the tree using the Fiskars 12x12 Tree template and Fiskars Ultra Shape Express. Mod Podged the tree onto the canvas. Then punched the holes for the lights through the back. 

I had this cool little set of LED battery powered lights I bought last year from The Warehouse (NZ).

So you just poke them through the holes in the back of the canvas and tape down the battery pack.

 
Then I added some blingy embellishments and that was it. It looks so pretty at night and the bling shimmers from the little lights. And I can just replace the batteries when they run out. How cool is that! I love how it's all compact and I don't have to plug it in.

It's Christmas Eve....so Santa isn't far away...........sleep tight!

REMEMBER to leave out some Santa Food and maybe some food also for the Reindeers!

Christmas Cards are done and ready to send

Simple but nice I think, my Christmas cards are ready to go. This year I've used my Hero Arts doily stamp, I am crazy for anything doily at the moment, and this message stamp which fits perfectly in the Fiskars XL circle squeeze punch.

Halloween ideas

 

I googled Free Vintage Halloween images and found these, so cool. I printed the images on normal printer paper and glued to the treat bags. Punched some tags and borders with my Fiskars punches and voila, cute Halloween treat bags.

And this empty strawberry container was begging to be made into something. So I dribbled alcohol ink over it, added some tissue and embellishments and I had another Halloween gift container. All drooly (sp) and halloweeny looking.

A LO to share

...using the new Lever punches I received. See them here. I punched around the edge of a sheet of cardstock and then used that as a stencil to spray the daisies around the edge on this sheet of cardstock. And I used my corner punch as a border punch again :). The photo on Mothers day, I'm taking the photo, my hubby, son and daughter cracking up laughing at something while we have a lovely walk in the sand dunes near our place.

New Lever Punches

I received these 2 Fiskars Lever punches to play with - Corner Lever Punch 1" Circles and Small Lever Punch 3/4" Flower

 

and here's what I've done with them so far -

made some tiny flowers using the Flower punch

and a card using the Corner punch

 

I love that you can take off the white guides and make it a border punch, easy.

I made this card using the Fiskars Threading Water border punch and Fiskars Ultra Shape Express and Circles template.

Happy Birthday card

This card was made using my Fiskars Twist and Flip 2 in 1 corner punch. Love that it has 2 sizes to punch your corners. A great tool to have and so easy to use.

Hi Card

The flower on this card was made using the XL Fiskars circle squeeze punch. Punch 7 circles, spray with glimmer mist or similar to moisten and colour of course, scrunch up and layer on top of each other molding into desired shape.

Mothers Day gifts

I found this cute and very simple idea here to make a pouch for your mobile phone/ipod/camera.

All you need is 2 pieces of fabric and some iron on batting 5" wide x 15"long each. See the link above for the full instructions. I added the elastic (a hair tie cut in half) which you have to add in before you sew and turn inside out. Then the button last. It's easier to use a button with a shank.

  
 
Which led me to what to give Mum for Mothers Day. I thought an apron would be nice, she always wears aprons. So I made her this apron and this mobile phone pouch, wrapped them in tissue and tied it with a strip of the same fabric. Doesn't it look cute.
