Wendy's Menu - November Challenge

Hi Everyone

We are off to a great start with this challenge, it is so much fun.  It certainly gets you out of your box and helps you try new things.

My Criteria was

8.5 x 11 size layout
use brown green orange - for orange i used the Lil Davis Chipboard Alphabet Away we go, brown and green was my paper
two patttern papers - Kimberley Polson Nature's Flora Flights of Fancy and Cloud9 Alyssa's Garden Fleur

cardboard and paint- the sun punch outs were cream cardboard

I used the Fiskars Soleil Squeeze punch and Paint is Making Memories Shopping Bag.

cardstock optional - I did not use any

I have used a picture taken while on a city tour in melb recently.  This is the corner of Flinders and Swanston St a big main intersection.  The building is Flinders St Station, our main hub for suburban trains in Melb.  I love our city and it was certainly bathed in sunshine this day. With the City Circle Tram and the Station this is classic melbourne.

I dont have any journaling on here as I think the picture says it all.

Some Really quick cards for Dad

Hi there!!

By using double sided papers and an alphabet template with the shape cutter, i was able to create a couple of fathers day cards really quickly.

 

 

The negative cutout of the pp to adhere to the front of the card, the positives cut out and used on the other card.

This paper is from the Lil Davis Away We Go range of papers, and are both together on the piece, double sided.

Rounded corners with the Fiskars Squeeze punch a light sand and some ribbon to finish, all ready to send.

Fiskars Butterfly Template Layout

I thought I would share a layout I did over the weekend. I used the Fiskars Butterfly Shapecutter Template. I thought I would try something a little different. I cut the large butterfly out of the floral patterned paper and backed it with some red patterend paper. After lining it all up I cut the top of the butterfly wings out of the red paper and adhered it behind the floral. I used Fiskars pop dots to make the wings stand up.

The small butterfly is cut out of red patterned paper and folded in half and pop dotted on top of the floral paper. I used Li'l Davis epoxy letter stickers for the title.

A Super sized Blue card.

Seeing as we are looking at BLUE I thought i would share a card that was published in Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft, Volume 15 No 3 which is the current issue out.

I have used the rubons, stickers and alphas to tell a little story on the front of the card.

 

 

This extra big card (A4) size uses the Lil Davis "Away we go" range of papers and epoxy stickers, and rubon, also in this range is some gorgeous diecut paper papers, you can see the little aeroplane cutouts on the white card.

Journaling- Song Lyrics

Using lyrics from a song or a words from a poem or story are a great way of journaling. Although I have shared this layout before (as seen in Scrapbook Creations) I thought I would share it again.

I have printed the words to a favourite song over the entire sheet of white background cardstock.

I used word and created a document 12 x 12 inches. I copied and pasted the words over and over again until the entire page was covered. I then printed this out onto white cardstock. If you don't have an A3 printer you can still create the same effect using an A4 sheet of cardstock.

 I used Li'l Davis 'Away We Go' range, 'Leave it to Weaver' border punch and some sandpaper to highlight the white core paper. I used the text tool in Adobe Photoshop 7 to add the title on the photo.

Journaling - Point Form

One of my favourite ways to journal is in point form.

I love just jotting down random facts about a person, place or occassion. It's a really quick way of journaling and an great way of summarising an event.

You will have to excuse the quality of these pics. We have a very dull, damp day here. We really need the rain although there doesn't seem to be a lot of the wet stuff falling.

I used Li'l Davis Travel Range, a clear stamp from the Kimberly Poloson 'Nature's Flora' range stamped in cream paint and my trusty Fiskars Rotarty Trimmer.

"For You" Card

Just a quick and easy FOR YOU card that I created recently for a friend.

 I used some Lil' Davis "Away We Go" papers and stickers....then got out ny NEW Fiskars Scallop squeeze punches to make my own embellishments.....something I have also loved doing with such great FISKARS TOOLS!

I love sanding around the edge of punched out shapes to let the white core show through.....if you haven't tried doing this....why not give it a go!

Don't faint ~ I've actually scrapped a layout.....yeh!

ok....so I haven't scrapped a layout for months........and now I have 4 done in 2 days....amazing.....LOL! (Click on the image if you want to read the journaling)

 "Family BBQ" was about our annual "Cochrane" family get together held each year in January....this year it was held at my brother's WATERGARDEN.....Blue Lotus Watergarden

 Here are a few close ups.......I must admit I loved creating this.....I love to hand journal on my pages......so this Lil Davis Away We Go paper range is perfect for ME!

I used the FISKARS SEAL OF APPROVAL SCALLOP PUNCH (L) and the FISKARS (M) Circle Squeeze Punch to make my own embellishments....sanded around the edge and added some FISKARS FOAM ADHESIVE underneath.

 Then I punched out some holes with my Fiskars Eyelet Setter Punch.....I love using this for creating holes in my work so that the paper underneath shows through....hardly ever set eyelets with these.....LOL! I have also used alphas and sticker letters from the Li' Davis  "Away We Go" travel Range........such fun to use and makes putting a layout together much quicker.

Inspiration February 27- Siblings (either yours or your kids)

For today's inspiration I have chosen to scrap one of the most recent photos I have of my boys together.  I have used the Li'l Davis Designs 'Away We Go' travel range of papers and I think they work really well for this layout, even though it's not travel-related.

The heart embellishments along the bottom of the photo were cut from contrasting papers from the 'Away We Go' range, and cut using either the Ultra Shape Express and heart template, or the 'My Funny Valenting' squeeze punch.  I've inked the edges and layered the different sized hearts with foam tape.

The faux hinges are simply strips of patterned paper with one end rounded on both corners, inked for definition, and then punched with an eyelet setter/hole punch.  I've used epoxy brads from the 'Away We Go' range to tie it all together.

 

I hope that you are inspired to try using all sorts of different papers for your layouts, and that you are prompted to do a layout of your siblings (or your children.
