Celebrating 10 years with FISKARS

Hi everyone,

It occurred to me this week that I have now been working for FISKARS AUSTRALIA for 10 years.......OMG......where have the years gone?

I'm so grateful that when I left teaching.....another door opened to me.....and to think it all started after a Conversation in Melbourne.....one thing led to another....................and here I am still here after 10 years. I'd just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Fiskars Australia

I have had the opportunity to travel interstate attending Craft Shows,participating in Store Demonstrations,Officeworks Trade Show,Spotlight Projects,Lincraft Projects,preview NEW products....and so much more.....meet ing so many lovely people along the way..so very grateful....thanks guys!!

So I think this calls for a Celebration RAK(Random Act of Kindness)....what do you think?

I used:

• Fiskars Utra Shape Express in freehand mode to cut out the swirls and the lettering.
• Fiskars squeeze punches - XL seal of approval (scalloped circle), L Twinkle twinkle (star), M may flower (sparkle shape)
• Fiskars Interchangeable boarder punch - with daisy chain cartridge
• Fiskars Microtip scissors
• Fiskars cutting mat

Sewing Challenge:

Sew anything up using a sewing machine and a fiskars tool using the colour of Spring.... yellow.

It could be a bag, a quilt block, a purse, a beach totebag, a sun hat - anything!

AUGUST CHALLENGES - Have you entered yet?

Hi

Here are my entries - they are not quite what I first imagined but we have been the house of sick this month and to top it off I have badly sprained my ankle so moving around isn't easy.

Anyway I did manage to complete both challenges, an olympic layout (using my Fiskars template and USX cutter, paper trimmer and scissors) and a little skirt for my daughters doll (using my fiskar scissors).

 

Sorry also for the photos (taken with my phone as my camera battery is flat)

Olympics and Around the World Game - let's get travelling

We know we've got heaps of readers from Aussie and NZ. Hi everyone! We know we've got a few from the USA Good day to you! And even some from Europe G'day! We know we also have some Canadian followers....hello to you as well!

But what we'd like to do is just see for real how many different countries we can get along here.

So here's the deal. Email all your friends and/or put a post on your blog. Giving people this post link and say 'go leave a comment with your name and country plus my name and country'.

Then what we're going to do is then give out random prizes to both you and your friend for just doing that. Leaving us a comment. Sound easy....it shall be our own Olympic Blog Game....

What do the Olympic rings signify?

According to most accounts, the rings were adopted by Baron Pierre de Coubertin (founder of the modern Olympic Movement) in 1913 after he saw a similar design on an artifact from ancient Greece.  The five rings represent the five major regions of the world: Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Every national flag in the world includes at least one of the five colors, which are (from left to right) blue, yellow, black, green, and red.  It is important to emphasize that Pierre de Coubertin never said nor wrote that the colors of the rings were linked with the different continents

The Olympic Flag made its debut at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp, Belgium. At the end of each Olympic Games, the mayor of that host-city presents the flag to the mayor of the next host-city. It then rests at the town hall of the next host-city for four years until the Opening Ceremony of their Olympic Games.
