What an awesome month last month....
4 entries for Paper crafting challenge and 2 entries for sewing challenge.

Here is this months challenges for both Paper Crafting AND Sewing.

To Enter:

• You will have till 30th Sept to do and enter your chosen challenge
• New Zealand and Australian entries only Please
• You will also will need to use at least ONE fiskars tool in the process of making your projects.
• And be able to take a clear photo of your project so we can see it.
• You may enter ONE papercraft project and/or ONE sewing project (making it a possible 2 entries a month!)
• email your entry to [email protected]
• entries will be chosen via random.org
• Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash
• One draw for the papercraft challenge and One draw for the sewing challenge will take place.
• Winner will be announced on the blog on the 1st Oct with new challenges.
• Winner will need to contact [email protected] with postal address two weeks after draw takes place, if not then the prize will be forfeited.

Paper Craft Challenge:

For those that are interested in Paper Crafting, here is your challenge..
Do a layout or project inspired by the following sketch (or if "off the page project" use the spring colour  yellow somewhere on your project)

Here is my example:

I used:

• Fiskars Utra Shape Express in freehand mode to cut out the swirls and the lettering.
• Fiskars squeeze punches - XL seal of approval (scalloped circle), L Twinkle twinkle (star), M may flower (sparkle shape)
• Fiskars Interchangeable boarder punch - with daisy chain cartridge
• Fiskars Microtip scissors
• Fiskars cutting mat

Sewing Challenge:

Sew anything up using a sewing machine and a fiskars tool using the colour of Spring.... yellow.

It could be a bag, a quilt block, a purse, a beach totebag, a sun hat - anything!

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - snowball fight with dad

Yes I'm still hooked on snow.... and still scrapbooking last years photos.... I've fallen behind a little....

Here is the sketch...

You can use boarder punches on the side of the photos if you wish and make awesome swirls,flowers and leaves with fiskars tools and punches. Sew along the dotted lines too or just draw them.

Here is my layout example:

I used "Vintedge" line of Ruby Rock-it papers for my layout (available from Spotlight stores) and cut the pattern on the paper with Fiskars Ultra Shape Express freehand to slip the photos behind (saves on embellishments)
I then used the rest of the cardstock I hand trimmed off with Fiskars Surecut trimmer, as I trimmed to A4 size, then reversed the cardstock and cut along the pattern to make a fancy boarder. Enhanced with Bella! bling added Bella! raw chipboard letters and painted them white. But before I adhered them to the page I put black crayon scribble behind them. Yes that was normal kids wax crayon.

Very simple layout with heaps of focus on the photos.... just what I like.

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - Mini double layout

Hi sketchy lovers....

This time around I did a simple layout with basic shapes...

here is my sample:

In all my madness - I somehow chose a 5" square album to do for my boy from the age of birth to 9yrs old.... I must have gone nuts! But anyway I managed to fit 4 photos on one 5"x5"!

The above layout is to do with My little super heros 5th birthday at the beginning of this year.

Here are the tools I used.... Oldies but goodies...

Fiskars Utra shape express

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - its in the Layers

Hi sketchy fans..

this week experiment with layers...

I am a thrifty crafter and this is how I prepared my layers....

see how I cut out the middles to make frames?

This is how it came together...

The two punched layers (blue and red) are done with Fiskars boarder punch - up in the clouds cartridge.

I used plain cardstock, Ruby Rock-it red cardstock and Bella! chipboard letters.

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - Swirly flowers

I love swirls and flowers they always make me happy..... put some bling and make your own flowers using Fiskars punches and scissors.

Here is my Example...

I used:

• "up in the clouds" cartridge for the fiskars interchangeble boarder punch.
• Fiskars funky heart squeeze punch for the black flowers.
• Fiskars May flowers squeeze punch for the middle of the flowers.

Other supplies:

• Prima - nature garden A4 paper pad for background paper
• Bella! raw letters - inked roughly with Archival Black ink pad
• Ruby Rock-it black/white paper twine
• Bella! Bling
• white tissue paper that came in some packaging

Yes I know we all have lots of photos from one event.... lets fit them all in one layout today..... using 3 6x5 photos and two 2.5x4 photos

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - Zip it up

This layout sketch this week is based on a Zip.... why?
I don't know.... just how it developed from my brain....

As you read this post my family and I are out of our home as it its being fixed from earthquake damage.
So no example for now.... Hopefully I get a chance next time round.

This layout is good for your Fiskars trimmer and using up all those little strips of paper left over from other projects..... Have fun. Pick out a plain colour background and use contrasting patterened papers.

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - a Bird Layout

Hi all here is an A4 sketch layout that can be adapted easily to 12x12 or even a greeting card....

Now when I designed this layout I was thinking about possible "Hunting Games" type look going towards the outrageous "Capitol Couture" look. Bling and big flowers....

The four strips represent the fingers and nail art seen in photos of a main character "Effie Trinket"

The Strips I used Fiskars interchangeable boarder punch cartridge - up in the clouds. I cut the strips at one inch in width then punched both sides.

The butterflies are Fiskars Delicate Butterfly leaver punch.
Rounded corners of the photos punched with Fiskars Squeeze punch - around the corner

Surecut Trimmer used to trim photos/page/strips to size.

Brown flower = silk flower by Bella!
lace flower made by me with the help of Fiskars Microtip scissors
Chipboard daisies by Fuby Rock-it- Nostalgia with Flowersoft added in the middle of them.

Fetchy Sketchy Friday - Easter Card 2

Hello back again with another easter card idea....

Here is my example:

I used the Banners Away cartridge with the interchangable boarder punch and the eggs/background are embossed with the yellow Blossoms Texture plate.

When I use the embossing plates I hold shapes down with sticky tape. Saves them from moving around.
