Card a day - circles!

I love circles! So versitle....

todays cards are made with circle punches and circle templates...

then it dawned on me we also need some shine so after that photo was taken and edited I had to make this following card too and put the shines on this one and take a photo so you can see what I mean...

I used Kaiser craft Twig and berry range of papers and Just believe diecuts with Ruby Rock-it paper twine.

A4 sized family Layout

Hi all...

today I thought I'd take a break from doing Christmas preparation and Christmas crafting and bring you a family layout.

I love the layered look... different elements layered all haphazzardly - it looks so.... interesting.

I used Kaisercraft Miss match collection and diecut shapes for this layout. Also adding a ribbon, a stenciled image I had sitting on my desktop (flower sprig), Misc news print type scrapbooking papers, home made pattererned masking tape (Aka: DIY washi tape)

This collection reminds me of grandmas, times gone by and vintage era. The overall feeling of the Miss match collection would be great for steam punk enthusasts too that want a bit of colour in their layouts instead of browns etc.

Card a Day - Baubles (tutorial)

Hi all here is another installment of the card a day feature... How are you likeing them so far?

see how the cut out parts sit above the patterned paper? lovely effect aye...

Well this is how I did it...

1. I cut a piece of plain dark green cardstock just under the size of the front of my greeting card base.
2. I used the Fiskars Ultra Shape Express (USE) and Fiskars christmas 2 shape template to cut three of the small baubles in the dark green panel.
3. I tied red and white Paper Twine from Ruby Rock-it to the card where the baubles are to mimic strings.
4. I cut from the Kaiser craft Twig and Berry collection - Advent cardstock a square of paper that will be big enough to cover the shapes.
5. The dark green panel was then turned to the back.... I put dimensional foam adheasive on the back then stuck the Advent patterned cardstock over where the holes of the shapes where.
6. I then stuck the whole panel to the front of the card and adhered the "christmas" sticker to the  front. (Kaiser craft Twig and Berry collection Numbers sticker sheet)
7. Done!

optional you can always get a plain white cardstock sheet and cut out with USE and the journaling shape template a panel to put inside the card to write on if you have no metallic pens to write with on dark cardstock.

yet another quick and simple card.

Card a Day - punch card

Hi all
How are you likeing the card of the day feature?
believe me there is more to come!

I have this card to show you today...

So easy that you really don't need instructions... Just layering and punching. ;)

on the inside of the card it needed a journal spot.... so I could write on it...

Childs room Christmas make over.... part 1 - a wreath

Hi all

My thing every year the lounge and kitchen gets decorated wonderfully..... the hallway gets a little decorating but the rest of the house is just left.....

My aim this year is to start on decorating the kids rooms.... I have a boy and an girl both at school and under 8yrs old.

So this is the start of that project..... Hopefully I get it all finished before Christmas though! LOL

First of all here is a Christmas wreath....

I stretched out the wire from a spiral bound note pad that was used up and made it into a circle. I then proceeded to use the Fiskars Templates I had and the Ultra shape express to cut out holly leaves and punched out circles to decorate the wire circle with Kaisercrafts twig and berry collection papers.

of course glitter glue helps sparkle it up and a satin ribbon at the base really makes it pop!

 

I'll post something else next week.... just finishing it off and I'll be able to show you... ;)

CUP DAY CARD

Is anyone going to the MELBOURNE CUP this year?

Seems like the whole of PAYNESVILLE is in MELBOURNE CUP PARTY MODE this week......it's a hive of activity this coming weekend....Market on the Foreshore,Art Show,Quilt Exhibition....and FAMILY DANCE on SATURDAY.....which Rod and I are attending......my good friend KAY is playing......so I've created this fun CUP DAY CARD as a thank you to her.......my Fiskars Tools have sure come in handy for this.

Loving this cute little Fiskars Horse Lever Punch...available in Spotlight stores. Perfect for the BIG RACE.

I even used the side of my Fiskars Circle Template....I sometimes forget that there are some great designs on the side of most of them.......and after I punched out a few horses....I came up with another fun idea.......why not  number these punched our horses and use them for a CUP SWEEP...

I also found some Cristina Re designer tape in my stash I have done here...so I added that as well...just added in the horses eyes.....and VOILA  ....ALL DONE!!

........AND HERE'S a little sneak peek at something else I'm working on whilst down here....

Layout Catchup - European style

Hi all

Here I am again with another European style layout....

This time I used ovals instead of squares...

You noticed I still used pink-ish on the layout for this month? and my daughter is wearing pink boots? ;)

The tools I used are:

Fiskars 12x12 cutting mat
Fiskars oval shape template
Fiskars square shape template
Fiskars supersized ovals shape templates
Fiskars Ultra shape express
Fiskars fingertip craft knife

All products can be found at Spotlight and Warehouse Stationery stores.
As you see I am having heaps of fun with these AZZA style or European style scrapbook pages.... Not that I have run out of embellishments.... far from it... just needed a change and a little more of a challenge at the moment in my crafting style ;)

My sweet Rose

Hi all

Have you seen the AZZA style adds in the scrapbook magazines?
I have and they have been eating at me.... I'm sure I could do that with Fiskars templates.... I keep saying to myself.. I have had a go before but wasn't quite successful with the look but I may have concured it.

AZZA style scrapbooking is from the European region of the world.
A style that is mainly using templates and very very little, if no embellishments at all... Good for those who want to scrapbook without the expensive embellishments....

Here is my results using Fiskars Shape templates and the Fiskars Ultra shape express...

I used the templates also to draw in the yellow crayon (yes the kids crayons) on the layout.... And the letters are rubons that have been sitting in my stash for so long.

I put in some hidden journalling behind the photo too....

So here are the tools:

Fiskars Ultra Shape express

I am just loving this style of scrapbooking. I might try some more.

It's SHOWTIME ....wooohoooooooo only a few days to go

I'm now getting into CRAFT HUB mode for the ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW ......here's a few sneak peeks of what I've been doing......I'll have my good friend Rosemary Crowley and my hubby Rod working with me again starting this coming Saturday Sept. 22nd.

Flying into craft - IT'S ALL A-FLUTTER

I've been having fun with my FISKARS SHAPE CUTTER, FISKARS CRAFT MAT and FISKARS BUTTERFLY TEMPLATE this past week creating many fun butterflies to add to our CRAFT HUB display for the upcoming ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW.

It's been a great way to use up some scrapbooking paper scraps and at the same time creating some great backdrops for our PAPERCRAFT Display.

I have distressed around the edges of some of the butterflies with fine sandpaper and some inks....just for fun.......so now I am all butterflied out....LOL!

Rod, Rosemary and I shall be working once more in the CRAFT HUB in the ART,CRAFT and COOKERY PAVILION on Sat. Sept 22nd, Thursday Sept. 27th and Friday Sept. 28th .....9:30 - 5pm

I'm off to JUDGE the Scrapbooking Competitions in both the OPEN and KIDS SECTIONS this coming SATURDAY......something I love doing! It takes me most of the day and it's all Voluntary...but I love my involvement with the RASV.

I'll be back tomorrow Thursday with my TRAVEL DIARY......haven't been home for over a week to downsize my holiday pics....sorry......come back tomorrow if you are interested in seeing my pics from HUNGARY!
